a little bit poorly

last night and most of today all alex has done is either sleep or cry.
hes got a bit of a cough and his nose seems quite snotty. when he gargles to me his voice seems all horse and it never before.
over the past hour or so all hes done is scream and cough, i dont want to seem like im over reacting or anything but do yous think i should ring nhs direct?

Does he have a temperature?

If you dont feel like he is acting himself i would ring NHS Direct and see what they advise - hope he is feeling better soon xx

yeah, i ended up ringing nhs direct and the midwife i spoke to heard him coughing and crying in the background and said he seemed quite chesty and she wanted to let the dr see him. emergency dr rang me back 5 minutes later and said it was viral and he should be ok, so never saw him after all. he did say if it gets worse i should take him to a&e..but hes not that bad

If his nose gets bunged up use some Nasosal drops which are good and loosen it all up or a nasal aspirator might work. Also try lifting the head of his cot with books or blocks too xxxx
