I'm sure you have all heard of them. its the latest technolgoy of scanning.. Where as the old way you just see like a black and white faint image... this basically puts images and videos together of what your baby actually looks like

Here is a picture...

My girlfriend has been researching it up... Their are 2 places i think in the UK where you can get it done. One is in Machester which is not to far for us

Its pretty expensive, they ave different packages, but the one we want is

A load of pictures printed out and a 10 minute video !!

That will cost £195 though!

You can get it from 32 weeks onwards...

Do you think its worth it, if you are struggling for money... I know we could save for it but i mean would it be better to use that money for something else?

I just think its once in a life time experience not to be missed

I mean what would you do if your mum said hey look at this video of you when you was in my belly !!

You can even find out the sex of your baby your self, its that detailed !!

Anyone had it? thinking of it..?

hi jmc

me an my other half are thinking of having it done but like you said you could put the money to something else! as i said to my other half we will be meeting our baby soon enough :D

but i suppose it is a once in a life time thing:) so if i had the money after getting everything else then i proberly would

I had it, there's loads of places now where you can have it done. It was excellent.

I had it done too and found out the sex. Got a nice dvd too.

Does anyone know any really cheap places that do it?

The money is a real big issue.. :(

babybond actually sent me a leaflet through a couple of weeks ago it said there prices start from £60 so it might be worth contacting them to ask ;)

We also got a 4D scan at Babybond and I think it was around £60....well worth the money :D  So lovely to see them inside you! I found them very helpful and a relaxed place to go.

There's a place in wrexham and chester aswell that does it. I was going to get it done as I live in wrexham but when I found out about them I was too far gone but did'nt have the spare money anyway.

They have a few packages available.

Here is their website incase u are interested http://www.firstglimpse.co.uk/index.html

Wow they are really cheap

Just sent the link over to my girlfriend :)

I had mine done at 27.3 weeks and think it was well worth the money. I also went to a Baby Bond centre, one in Maidstone, Kent.

It is best to get it done about 27-30 ish weeks as they baby can still has room to move around, I was told anything more than that can make it hard.

If you can have it done you will not be disappointed.

I was considering booking one, but my OH is worried what harm it would cause the baby (i assured him there wasnt any).

Also i'd feel guilty spending the money on that when i could be putting it to better use, like investing it in the baby's future (

I was going to book it at this one (closest one i know of to the Midlands) and the prices look cheap too for what you get http://www.windowtothewomb.co.uk/index.php?page_id=2

We both want one ! But we both feel it may be a bit selfish spending that much money for our pleasure...

Ive suggested letting my side of the family all chip in as like a kind of 'present'...

I just feel its a one i a life time experience and for the sake of £150 odd quid its worth it.

But obviously if we are proper struck for cash we will have to do without :(

I'll try my best though i know how much she would love this :)

Yeah the money was the reason I did'nt get one. Wish I had now tho lol as you said it's a once in a life time thing :).

Good idea to gettin your family to chip in abit :) My mum told me after I had my lil boy that she would have payed for one. Bit late now tho innit lol

I had one done it was fantastic and well worth the money it was really cheap too about £50 but you'll have to travel to Australia lol, sorry not much help, i was told the best time to have it done is between 26 and 32 weeks as before 26 baby hasn't laid down much fat and after 32 the baby is big and images might not be as good, it really was well worth it and something nice to keep, and looking back at pics and dvd you can see the baby does ook like Abi not just any baby :) maybe book it as a suprise for her, she'll love you forever :)

My mate in work has just had one done, a place in Litherland called Before The Stork, I have emailed them as I am not far from Liverpool-just over the water and they are sending me out a info pack
My mate had a 30 min scan, then got to pick 4 colour piccies, she got a cd of around 40 piccies, and is also being sent a 20 min dvd of the scan with music....all for around £140 I think

I asked if I could bring my mum as well as OH, and they said we were welcome to bring who we wanted-they can seat four we are going to take OH mum too as this is her first grandchild.

They recommended I go at 27 weeks-I am going to ring them after my 20 week scan to book it in

Hope this helps, its handy for you being in Liverpool? :D

Wow, i actually live in LITHERLAND !!!!

you can get them done EVERYWHERE!!! go on ebay and search there is one quite cheap little new company that are using ebay to promote there buisness and you can bid on them..They are doing it cause they are still a small and up and coming company so need the advertising...cant remember what its calls, search 4D scan on ebay.

prices vary loads, the bigger companys charge more, the smaller ones charge less cause they need the buisness more.

We are planning on getting it done, i am going to try for about 28 weeks as i think that is the best time.

They said after 27 weeks is best as the baby has started laying down fat and looks less alien like and more like a baby, and no later than 32 weeks at the baby wont be moving around as much as it is getting bigger...
They have a website JMC if you have a look, and I just emailed them for info pack ,they seem dead friendly too :D
