Hi all, had my 36 week growth scan today after having 2 previous big babies. Does it sound ok that baby weighs roughly 6lb 6oz? I know its not totally accurate, but im asssuming im on course for a slightly smaller baby this time?

I put no stock in growth scans tbh, DS2 was pegged to be 10lb+ and they were concerned he'd get stuck as I'm teeny. Growth scans indicated the same, and he was 8lb 12 so a big difference. Conversely, your baby could have been very tucked up.

How big were your previous babies and what's your fundal height atm?

I got told they estimate baby puts on half a pound a week now, so that sounds about right for a nice normal sized 8lb baby. My growth scan for my second son estimated he would be 8 to 8 and a half pounds at birth and he was 9 and a half, so I don't trust them that much either xxx (I'd also had a 9 lb 9oz baby for my first baby) it's nerve wracking isn't it, I'm on baby number 3 and also hoping for smaller this time! Xx

I was scanned a lot towards the end of my second pregnancy, I was huge measuring 42 weeks at 39 weeks for my fundal height. Scan showed big baby and I think they thought he would be around 9 and a half. I was induced on my due date and he was 10lb 1oz. X

Thanks for your replies! Current fundal height is 36cm, and my other two babies were 9lb 3oz and 9lb 6oz. I know thats not absolutely massive, but im not huge myself and I haemhorraged badly after both so they have kept an eye this time :)
