Got the results of my 21 day bloods today. Sounds like things are ok (I think)...

I'll not jot down all the values as they are normal. I was told my progesterone was 17.5 (and that normal was 16 to 30) but that it was OK. But I cannot help thinking, is this too low??

The doc has asked me to phone to let her know when i start to bleed again so she can look at the results again; something to do with the Prog levels peaking at about 7 days before period?

Is anyone able to explain a little more about this or had a similar experience?

I mentioned to her about my painful periods too, that they were really heavy, vomit inducing and super sore even with diclofenac and co-codamol .

Also, DH got his sperm results back - in a nut shell all is OK although they do want him to do a repeat test at the hospital (I delivered the last one on my way to work with it stuffed up my jumper ha) because there was debris noted. What could this be? Something in the sample pot? Skin cells? Something else?

Thanks for stopping by to read this. x

PS. It was a lovely gal in TTC that suggested I post this on here as she thought some of you may be able to help answer these - I hope I am not intruding. xx

Hi, I dont really know greatly about blood results and things but Im sure someone can help you there. I have had them all and from what it sounds like if you were told they were ok then thats definetly a good thing. Why did you have them done in the first place is it because of your terrible period pain or have you been trying for a long time with no success?

The next step for me after all the tests was a referral to the fertility specialist which may be in line for you. In terms of oh sperm its standard to have 2 done. My hubby was told on the first one there were a few 'irregularaties' but second one was fine. We didnt folllow the non bd for 4 days before and the sanple was maybe slightly out of the hour the first time so in retrospect now we think it may be that!

Sorry Im not much help but sure someone will be!

Thanks for your reply laurat. Really appreciate it. I went to the GP because we have had no success for over a year. If AF tips up this wkend, which lets be honest, is very likely, we will be in cycle 14.

Hi julianne  welcome to LTTTC x x

Progesterone needs to be over 30 to confirm ovulation mine was 28 and the dr wasn't that pleased so am repeating it- quite normal to have lots of bloods done- progesterone gets repeated alot to see if your ovulating x
2nd sperm tests are normal - my hubby only jus got his appointment for his 1st in oct!

Have you had CD 3 bloods done?? X

Thanks Drummerswife for your reply and welcome.

I have not yet even heard of CD3 bloods until now ;)

I presume they are looking at the same hormones?

CD3 check loads of things - thyroid, full blood count, u&es(kidneys), crp (infection marker), rubella immunity and some other immunities, and HIV, chlamydia

I think that's all - I'm a nurse and even I was surprised on all the tests done x x

Hi ya, I have absolutely no experience but just wanted to say GL...hahaha Sample under your jumper!! ;o) xxx

emz - Thanks luv. it was like somethiong from mission impossible. A shout from the bathroom of 'mission jizz executed. all stations go go go!' And then me whizzing off to work but trying not to get spotted by colleagues (I work in the same building as the 'drop off point'). It was nice to make it a bit of a giggle.

Drummers-wife - thanks that is helpful - I never knew this test existed! I am waiting for a few other results. I know they were going to check thyroid because i'm tired most of the time. Perhaps they took off an FBC fo Hb too. I'm sorry to say I am rubbish when it comes to having blood taken, ha I lie back and close my eyes and let them try to find my elusive veins. In hindsight I should have had a look afterwards to see which tubes she got.

Lol, imagine if someone saw you and you jumped and dropped it!!! hehehe
