Just checking in - how are you doing? It is difficult to combine breast and formula and only really works properly if you express when you bottle feed. Otherwise your supply diminishes - it's a supply and demand circle so the more baby demands, the more your body will produce. I think...

I combined breastfeeding and formula feeding from about 5 months onwards and I found it very difficult to decide how much to give per feed. Eventually I decided to give a similar amount of formula to that which I could express from one 'full' breast. In my case that was about 4 oz at a time.

I wouldn't use a glass thermometer if I were you. If you've got a plastic one it's okay. With a tiny baby you might be able to use one of those strip thermometers that you hold across the forehead. Otherwise, invest in an ear thermometer. We had a strip one, but Alice won't stay...

Thanks Jadie. When Alice gets better - she's got some viral thing at the moment and is off food - I'll try her with some steamed veg! She loves eating by herself whenever she gets the opportunity!

We talk and he seems to 'get' what I'm saying and I feel better about things and then he'll just throw some glib remark in that seems to indicate that he doesn't really 'get' it at all. I don't want it to dictate our future together. I want to be able to talk to him, but what's the point...
