    baby slings

Another good place to try is http://www.littlepossums.co.uk - they are very nice and resent everything I'd ordered when it didn't turn up the first time (turned out some kids had been stealing our post!!)

    How much is enough??

Just checking in - how are you doing? It is difficult to combine breast and formula and only really works properly if you express when you bottle feed. Otherwise your supply diminishes - it's a supply and demand circle so the more baby demands, the more your body will produce. I think...

    How much is enough??

I combined breastfeeding and formula feeding from about 5 months onwards and I found it very difficult to decide how much to give per feed. Eventually I decided to give a similar amount of formula to that which I could express from one 'full' breast. In my case that was about 4 oz at a time.

    Negative results but still convinced.....

Friend of mine was telling me just the other day that she had negative tests until she was about 2 months pregnant!

    Breastfeeding...

The main thing is the bra! Best to get one fitted if you can, but I also liked the 'sporty' type that fit a range of sizes. I bought nipple cream, but never used it. It is a bit sore to begin with, but I could never bring myself to use it and have my tiny baby sucking on it. Breast...

    Muslin squares .V. Bibs?

I only ever use bibs for feeding times now Alice is having solids. I say you can't have too many muslins as I use them constantly! Under her chin when she was breastfeeding, or lately, bottlefeeding, wiping up dribble, wiping up when she's a bit sicky, wiping up when she wees on the...

    Unboiled Tap Water

It all has to pass the same quality standards - whether it's London or the Midlands! Babycentre says you only need to boil until baby is six months old - http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/formula/boilingtapwaterexpert/ - so I'm going to stop now that Alice is eight and a half months...

    Teethy pegs!!

Only a week later and Alice has nearly five teeth! It's hideous when she grinds them together. Doesn't seem to bother her any, but it gives me the shivers...

    Babies temperature

Also - beware that temperature ranges are different for different parts of the body. This is a really good site on fevers in children - http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/body/fever.html

    Babies temperature

I wouldn't use a glass thermometer if I were you. If you've got a plastic one it's okay. With a tiny baby you might be able to use one of those strip thermometers that you hold across the forehead. Otherwise, invest in an ear thermometer. We had a strip one, but Alice won't stay...

    Getting Over It

oh heck - this is my 3rd attempt as I keep getting logged out!! Thanks for your thoughts guys - I really appreciate it. Once he'd made the decision he didn't look back. He doesn't regard it as a great sacrifice and neither do I. I quit for our baby and now he finally has. We have more...

    how much?

Thanks Jadie. When Alice gets better - she's got some viral thing at the moment and is off food - I'll try her with some steamed veg! She loves eating by herself whenever she gets the opportunity!

    Getting Over It

We talk and he seems to 'get' what I'm saying and I feel better about things and then he'll just throw some glib remark in that seems to indicate that he doesn't really 'get' it at all. I don't want it to dictate our future together. I want to be able to talk to him, but what's the point...
