    Pads...

I used four packs of ten maternity pads. I used them doubled up for the first two days - the bleeding is mind-boggling at the beginning, and I bled right through two pads together within an hour of birth. And yeah, get big pants to hold them. The bleeding tailed off pretty quickly after that...

In the middle of Tesco, of all places!

Oh hun! What a thing to happen! Hope you are feeling better now. I was labouring in Beeston Castle and at an antiques centre. I'm sure some people gave me some odd looks... but you're pregnant, so I'm sure they will work out why you're leaning against the fruit, lol. xxx

    Home birth?

Aw. Lovely to see there are other home birthers here. I felt like a bit of an anomaly, going for a home birth when most people seem to choose hospital/MLUs, so it's good that there are others as 'crazy' as I am :) Glad you've got lots of support - I really hope it goes well for you! xxx

    Home birth?

I had a home birth just under three weeks ago and it was amazing. Our community midwives were SO supportive and encouraging, and the two midwives that we had at the birth were fantastic and reassuring. We loved our experience and would do it again in a heartbeat. I posted my birth story in the...

    Logan Peter born 1/7/12

Well done, hun! I had trouble getting Tilly past the 'bend' too, but since it was a home birth and her heart rate was fine, there was no option other than to wait and for me to push harder! So glad he is here safe and sound xxx

Woop woop! Belle23 has gone into labour! Saturday 30th June Haven't had any updates from Cat since this morning at 10.51 when she wrote: 'Well, waters have gone and I'm contracting every 6 and a half minutes. Waters still going though. Sat on ball and got tens going. Fingers crossed he comes...

    Water birth

I wanted a water birth for my home birth and I was in the pool for about an hour, but got out because my contractions, which had been coming thick and fast, had slowed down a lot and I was getting impatient. I eventually gave birth out of the water because my contractions sped up after I got...

Can anything be done about elasticity...

I did perineal massage for five minutes a day from about week 36, using almond oil. I had a small tear, which needed one stitch, and a graze. I also listened to the MW when she told me to stop pushing. I think my tear was from LO shooting out so quickly in one go! I had no control over that...

What's happened to all the labour watches!

Some of the babies came in a bit rush, didn't they? I was glad to be one of them. Hopefully I'll be able to start a labour thread for Belle23 this weekend! Fingers crossed for you all xxx

    Waters gone OMG!!!!

Woop woop! Good luck, hun. Funnily enough, I just thought of you and checked my mobile about half an hour ago. Text me when you can and I'll try to write a labour thread for you - LO is keeping me very busy, but I'll try my best. Hope it all goes well - don't worry about it and it will be fine xxx
