I was on a tight budget, we got:
6 babygros
6 vests
1 jacket
(I knitted 2 jumpers and 3 hats)
4 cellular blankets
1 baby sling
nappies
wipes
12 muslin squares
1 baby sponge
top to toe wash
cotton wool balls
changing mat
baby nail scissors
That did him for the first six weeks...
My dd was the same, What worked for us was giving her a little towel she could wrap herself in. It gave her the bit of security she needed. After a few months she took a book instead.
I had two doses 12 hours apart, the first lot was a load of little pills, the second was an injection into my thigh. It is usually just a precaution, and it does good things for the baby, and you should be fine.
I had to take aspirin throughout my pregnancy. It did make my asthma worse - at 22 weeks I needed nebulising after a full on attack, and had steroid tablets for a month. I also had to increase my brown puffer to 200mg 8 puffs a day and add on a long acting ventolin. This wasn't all due to the...
You poor things, this stress is the last thing you need with a new baby. You can do this, you can still breastfeed exclusively with a bit more time. My son was in the scbu for a week and was given only bottles (although this was ebm). I was really upset because I wanted to feed him myself. He...
I thought I was lacking milk in the evening because I was feeding ds so much and he didn't really seem satisfied. It turned out that I had plenty of milk (although my boobs were really soft), and he just wanted to cluster feed. It works well for us because he sleeps from 11pm to when I wake him...
With my daughter, her first teeth came quite late, but she had no trouble with them when they arrived. We were more worried about her second teeth as she had a feeding tube in her mouth when she was tiny, and this changed the shape of her bottom gum (it looked like there was a big hole in it)...
We have a crib upstairs, and use the cosy carrycot that came with our travel system (graco tour deluxe) downstairs. To be honest, we shouldn't have bothered with the crib as he hasn't slept in it once. We co sleep upstairs. We do use the carrycot downstairs - it is wonderful, he falls asleep...
This was a major concern of mine when we decided to try for another. I had pre-eclampsia fairly badly the first time round. My consultant told me that there is a general risk of about 10% in a second pregnancy if you've had pe. This may sound high, but if it does happen again, it is usually less...
Week 1: C (baby in scbu)
Week 2: CB (struggled to get him to feed from me not the bottle)
week 3: B (cracked it)
week 4 to 10: B (still going)
Interesting idea, I can't wait to see the results.
I'm afraid mine was very obvious. My son flashed us as the sonographer moved to check his stomach measurements, and we all laughed as she said there was no need to ask if we wanted to know what it was. Boys are supposed to be easier to spot by accident.
I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. We all know that due dates are slippery things, but that can't make the waiting any easier. As the other girls have said, at the very least you know it will be soon.
I'm only 33 weeks, a long way from overdue, but I've been on red alert for the...
