Not feeding at night workd really well for us. Freya stopped waking after only 3 or 4 nights and actually put on more weight plus was more awake during the day. I think any extra milk she got on night feeds just got used up fuelling her waking through the night, now she sleeps 7 hours through...

It sounds like you're trying really hard - I just wanted to say well done because you so don't sound like a bad mum. I really can't help much though, apart from lack of sleep I didn't face too many of the things you're going through. Good luck with it.

me too! It's been going on since about 4 months, no real growth spurt but no real settled sleep either. On the upside I'm getting used to it now. :shock:

There's so much good advice here already - all I can really offer is a hunch that some folk might agree with. Even though it isn't skin to skin I'm so sure that wearing Freya helped me BF. It's close cuddle time, we smell each other and when I wear her and she gets hungry I feel my nipples...

If it's any help Freya is 5 months and no way sleeps through - she did between week 6 and 10 giving me false hope! Although she is asleep upstairs before us we don't usually get to bed till about 12 - I will then get woken for 2 lots of feeds (sometimes an hour long using both breasts) before...

Sorry I sort of hit and run on this - thanks for the replies. I asked about the teat when I took her to be weighed but no-one had heard of them. I was told though that it's really common for BFed babies not to accept the bottle and it usually sorts itself out with persistance rather than gadgets...

She was a little 'off' the week after her jabs but otherwise we've been lucky. She caught a cold off me but kicked it faster than I did. So 1 small snuffle.
