    Feeling low about being early?

Especially since your daughter was a full termer. My other children too were full term, big chunky babies. My youngest boy was born at 38 weeks and was 10lb 9oz, so for Anya to come so early and be so tiny was a huge shock. I definitely think having a preemie, makes you appreciate everything so...

    Feeling low about being early?

No matter how prem your baby is, it's such a hard thing to get your head around. My daughter is nearly 1yo (born at 23+6), and I still fell like this. I have experienced lots of emotions throughout the past year, guilt, sadness, happiness, elation, relief, but most of all pride. Although the...

    Does preterm labour hurt more??

I had a urine infection which caused my membranes to rupture. :( Something so simple caused so many problems. But my tiny miracle will be celebrating her 1st birthday in 3 weeks. :)

    Does preterm labour hurt more??

I had 3 full term labours before my premature daughter who was 23+6, her labour was different, less intense pain wise. I contracted for 3 days, dilating VERY slowly, which I was glad of as every day I kept her inside helped her grow a bit more. They would only have intervened if my waters became...

    Advice

I had my 4th baby at 23w 6d. NNU was a long hard journey and the best advice I can give is to take one day at a time, rest, cry and eat. Anya was in hospital for 136 days and at times it does feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. How is your cousin's little boy doing? We were...

    IVH

How are Ben and Jacob doing t1ger1977? Anya is 10.5 months actual now. Her brain was scanned weekly until we left the neonatal unit (we were in there for 136 days). We have appointments every 3 months but her brai is never checked, she's seen by a registrar and physio. So far they don't see any...

Emotionally scarred by having a baby in SCBU?

Anya is my 4th baby. My older 3 were big chunky full termers. Anya was born at 23+6, and spent 136 days in the neonatal unit. 10 weeks in intensive care, 5 weeks in high dependency and 5 weeks in special care. Anya is 10months old now, and I still feel traumatised. How I ever coped, I really...

    IVH

I was just wondering what everyone's different experience's are of IVH's. Anya had a grade IV in the first few days of life on the front right hand side. So far physio and consultant are delighted with her. They thought she's have a weakness on her left side, but so far, so good. I know...

Thank you. :) Anya had an appointmemt at the neonatal unit today and her consultant and physiotherapist are delighted with her progress. She's reaching all the correct milestones for her corrected age of 5months, and even tho she had a grade IV IVH she is showing no problems at all. I'm over the...

    Newbie

I know. I'm so proud. She is 8months/4 corrected. She can roll from her back to front and front to back. Her community nurse is delighted. I can't wait to see the physio and consultant in 2 weeks and let them see how far she's come as we haven't seen them since March. :D xx
