Worried my diet is going to harm baby

I'd say the meals I have are fairly healthy, I eat a lot of pasta, bread, salad, meats like chicken beef and pork and lots of cereal! But in between I'm having such pangs of hunger I'm finding it hard not to snack on chocolate and crisps and stuff and it's just suddenly hit me that this could be harming my baby? Nothing's ever been mentioned about me being unhealthy at my midwife appointments, I've gained a lot of weight but I'm tall so people say I look like I haven't put anything on! Do u think I'm harming my baby? Xxx
 
Hi, I really don't think that you will be doing your baby any harm. Baby takes all it needs 1st and if your eating healthish and a varied diet it sounds fine. No harm to have treats, I'm addicted to chocolate milk and chocolate milkshakes. How healthy :) enjoy your treats!
 
I probably have put on a lot more than docs think is right, but sometimes I have just craved chocs! Tbh, it is better than you losing weight and baby not having any nutrients . My oh likes to point out that baba has an extra layer of protection lol! I will say try not to worry, but I know its hard as I worry constantly lol. What I do is try to have some choc free days so I don't feel so bad :) Xx
 
All I crave is chocolate! I do worry but as long as you are getting fruit abc veg then I assume it is ok. It's so hard not to snack! xx
 
I was told that the best thing you can do is listen to your cravings, they are your body's way of telling you what it needs more of!!

Although goodness knows what mine wanted when I was craving plastic straws!! :shock: xxx

I would say no your not.

Your body tells you what you need and if it's teling you you need chocolate then your lacking in something there, trust what it tells you :)

I have gone off sweet things entirely :( it's salt and vinegar chip stick all the way for me :)
 
I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you're eating healthily between snacks! I've been craving chocolate like mad, I don't normally like it that much! My diet could definitely be better but i've gone off of so many things. I think this baby is a junk food addict already!!
 
No as long as you arnt gorging on junk all the time i wouldnt worry.
Your like me you eat healthy most of the time but allow yourself a little junk now and again.

I feel exactly the same as you, I'm so hungry that I have to eat cake and stuff in between meals - fruit just doesn't cut it! I am taking myself in hand a little now though and cutting down on the chocolate a bit! I am going to try graze boxes to see if they help fill me up in a healthier way! You get the first box free so might be worth a try. x x
 
I became addicted to chocolate in my last tri and must have eaten huge amounts but I was back in my pre pregnancy jeans 4 days after giving birth and had a healthy LO so I'd say go for it! The last tri can be so tough and I found no alcohol and no nice food like pate and stilton meant I deserved the chocolate!
