Rubie used to easily take 10-12 oz each feed, every 3.5 - 4.5 hrs. Now I struggle to get 4oz down her 3 times a day. I'm so worried, but HV said as long as she has wet nappies it's nothing to worry about. Surely this can't be right???? :?

No it doesn't sound right does it dropping down from that amount off milk, that was a lot of milk she was drinking anyway! How long has she been off her milk? maybe she isn't feeling well! Aimee only has 5oz bottles 4 times a day and usualy leaves some in every bottle so 10 - 12oz sounds loads to me. If it goes on for more than a few days I would take her back to see someone cos she isn't getting no where near her pint a day is she.

It's been about 3 or 4 days now that she hasn't been eating. I don't want to fill her up with water and solids as I think that will put her off her milk more, but I don't want her to starve either, so I have given her some yogurt and a drink yesterday, which she took, but was sick. She seems fine in herself.

Yeah I know she did take big feeds, greedy girl!!

Thats what i do with Aimee, give her plenty of yogurt and make all her food up with milk, it gets an exrra 5 or 6oz a day in her.

Is Rubie on solids? usually once they get a taste for solids they sometimes go off their milk and want food instead!
With jamie the most i get down him in a bottle is 3/4oz! the rest i have to mix up with his food so that he has enough ounces in a day!
When he was younger though he would drain a 6/7 sometimes 8oz bottle but since solids he wont drink a lot at all and prefers food.

I have been giving her little tasters now and again of solids, but I've not weaned her. I'll see how she goes in the next couple of days and if there's no improvement I will take her to clinic on Wednesday.

Thanks for your replies x

Hi Kim
Brody went off milk aswell when I started a bit of solids with him. I was really worried too, but he went back onto milk again after a week or so.
I'm sure she won't be starving herself, maybe because the weather has gone a bit hotter she's just not as hungry, Mason used to do that when he was a baby. Have you tried her with cold milk?
