I know they advice is nothing on their skin for the first month, but due to a migraine yesterday I used wipes instead of cotton wool and water, and it's sooo much easier, especially during the night.

Did anyone else start this earlier than your supposed to?

Xxx

The midwifes did it from day one in the hospital. I did too. Cant bare too touch cotton wool, evil stuff!!

I used them quite early on too, she's never had a rash but I suppose some babies skin is more sensitive than others x

I used nothing but water during nappy changes and in the bath for 6 weeks but that was my choice

I've used wipes from her first nappy change. Used pampers sensitive but just started a pack of sainsburys little ones as as got brought some while pregnant. So far never had any reaction.

I've used huggies pure since LO was a week old and she's never had any redness.

I never used cotton wool, useless stuff!

I will just mention that Jack has fab skin but Sainsury's frangrance free wipes (white packet) badly reacted with his skin! It literally looked like his face had been burnt!! Tesco's are fine though?! Wipes are like nappies, trial & error until you find the ones that you like! x

I've used wipes from day one !! And buy whichever r on offer mainly stick to sensitive ones and rhea had no reaction although johnsons made my face all blotchy !! Xxx

Asda little Angels are good :) not too wet and smell lovely :). Huggies are too wet IMO

Henry's first nappy change was with cotton wool as mil did it. I've used wipes ever since and he doesn't have a rash yet. Cotton wool is too fussy, especially during the night.

I used wool for the first nappy and now using wipes I did the same with Thomas and had no problems then either they are easier to used I agree xxx

We changed to wipes after 2 days the cotton wool was useless on the poo! O has a lovely soft bum

I did try wipes but they made him red raw so had to wait til he was about 9 weeks before I could use them on him x

We used Simple baby wipes from Chloe's first nappy change and have never had a problem.

I used wool and water for the first week but the went on to wipes. No redness and that's 6 weeks on. :-) he has a lovely soft tooshie.x

We use wipes. I like johnsons ones, although the only other ones I've tried are huggies (feel too harsh to me). I did use cotton wool and water for the first few days and then a mw asked me in hospital why I wasn't using the wipes I'd bought after seeing them in my bag! So I decided to use them. In saying that, all mw's have different views on them, as do mum's. Thankfully, we've had no probs.

I used wipes from day 2 & found them much easier. Planned to only use water at first but was in hospital after c section & was too hard to get hold of a bowl of water in hospital, especially at night so quickly gave up! Always use pampers sensitive, tried Huggies aloe a few time but made him a bit red & sore looking.
