When is the right time?

For the first time since I have been having AF's, my period was late last time around...SO.....will I ovulate 14 days after my EXPECTED period OR 14 days from when my actual period arrived????

I read somewhere on this site that you actually ovulate 14 days before your period starts. Amazing what I've learnt on here!!

If you are one of the lucky ones with a 28 day cycle then that will be the same as 14 days after your previous one. But say you have a 30 day cycle then you ovulate on day 16 after your previous period. Does that make sense?

In answer to your question, though, it's based on when your actual period arrived rather than when it should've done.
