Hi,
Got my first ever +ive OPK on Sunday night having had nookie on Sunday Morning. The thing is, I've continued to have +ive OPKs since. We also BD'd last night and I haven't had a chance to POAS this morning. When did I OV do you think?

Hi,

Two questions:
When you say the OPKs are positive, are the control lines the same colour as the test line? If the test line is lighter on an OPK they're not positive, it's just background LH which can be present throughout your cycle (sorry if you already know this - don't mean to be patronising)

What cycle day are you on and how long is your cycle usually? This is an imperfect science but if you have regular cycle lengths you should ovulate roughly around 14 days before your period is due.

Hope this is your month!

The test lines were considerably darker than the control lines. I have had faint lines throughout but the positives are very much positive! No peering this way and that to see them! I'm on day 20 of what may be a 30 day cycle of last month is anything to go by (I've only just starting payin attention to whats going on!) I got my first positive on CD16.

They reckon it should be 36-48 hours after your first positive OPK but maybe you're having a super-long surge? As I understand it the LH level should dip immediately after you actually ovulate. I've read comments that say sometimes your body is really trying to to ovulate but doesn't realease the egg so it just keeps trying, so you keep getting positives.

But tbh I've found that whatever it is that your unsure about with TTC, you will always find someone on a forum somewhere who will say it's a good thing and someone who'll say its a bad thing! Sometimes (actually, a lot of the time) reading stuff off a million and one forums makes me more confused than I was to begin with!

If I were you I'd just record, record, record. Take pics of OPKs, write down what's going on with you emotionally and physically each day and then at least if it's not your month then you can compare and contrast next month. That way if you're disappointed you've got something to go off next time, and you can feel a bit more in tune with your body and what's normal for you (the main reason there's so much confusion about TTC is that every woman, every cycle and every pregnancy is different whether we like it or not!).

Sorry I can't be of any help.

Love and luck,
Lou xx
