What to expect..

I have a 36 week consultant app coming up with the consultant. Does anyone know what I can expect? I know baby is head down but he wasn't engaged last app. Would they check the cervix now as I've been getting alot of cramps and stuff? Also is it possible to dilate before baby is engaged? Its all very confusing!

I doubt they will check your cervix, your cervix can dilate slightly and remain that way for weeks so it is not necessarily an indication of anything iminent - likewise with baby being engaged - it is really just a sign things are heading in the right direction.

i had an apt with the consultant last week, he didnt do anything diferent to what my own midwife did, the usual listen to baby, test water, feel were baby is lying and check your BP,

Its just the general check I believe, apparently they see you every week now from 36 weeks until birth. I think the reason I see a consultant instead of a midwife now is because I got pre-eclampsia in last pregnancy in the last month!
