I had some light bleeding on Friday at which point I was 5 weeks pregnant. I went to the dr in the morning, who said that as it was 'old' blood and I had no pain and was still experiencing morning sickness, it was probably nothing to worry about. However, later in the afternoon I started to bleed more heavily which has carried on over the weekend with some small clots so I'm pretty sure I've lost the baby.

The dr said to come back if this happened, so I'm just wondering what to expect when I go back. Will I need any kind of examination or treatment? Is it worth doing a pregnancy test? Also, from reading posts on here, everyone is saying how painfull mc is but I've had no pain, is this not normal?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

they might do a blood test and repeat it a few days later to see if your HCG levels are falling. I dont think it's painful for everyone when it's so early on hun.

Sorry you're going through this

hi hun. hope ur doing ok my first mc my doctor just said if u carry on bleeding take it as a mc and do a t test again in 3 weeks time which i did and it was neg. this mc wasnt painfull at all but i have just had my 2nd mc and this was and the epu have been seeing me almost every other day. so ur docs may wont to do some examinations but dont worry if they dont. i wouldnt do a test just yet cos it will prob still say positive cos takes awhile for hcg levels to go down mine. hope this helps a little am sorry am rubbish at trying to explain what i mean. but try keep ur chin up any way and if ur unsure bout any thing at all make sure u ask ur doc xxxx

I'm so sorry your going through this. I had a missed mc with no pain or bleeding but think it's different for everyone. I had no tests taken after mine but it was different. I agree with Hayles and don't have much more to add, didn't wanna read and run though (bad habit) x big big hugs babe!

So sorry to hear this hon...I'd say call doc and let them know. At my doctors they advise a scan even if ur sure it's a m/c to check that all is ok with you internally following it. It's an upsetting time and not a nice thing to have a scan when u think u have mis-carried (I went through this about 3 weeks ago) but really worth doing for the long term so I would call the doc and see what he suggests.

My thoughts r with u x x x x

Sorry your going through this hun , Hope you dont loose the baby :( xx

Thanks for your messages everyone. Went back to the dr today and he is sending me to the hospital for a scan. I'm not really holding out any hope but at least I'll know for sure.

Not good news unfortunately, I'm definitely not pregnant any more. Been feeling pretty down about it for the past week but it's getting better. Thanks for all your messages xxx
