Adam is beginning to settle really well now and we are having so much fun. The think I am worried about just now is Adam's crying. :cry:

Whenever the phone rings he wakes up and screams the house down and we can't comfort him at all. He is waking from his naps during the day the same way for no apparent reason. His cry almost seems like he is scared/in pain and he is crying real tears.

At first I though he was having a few bad dreams but it is happening more often. Could this be Adam going through another stage of development that will pass soon or should I be more worried.

He is a really happy content boy most of the time (finally) and It is frustrating to see him like this.

Please help. xxx

I've had this a few times, mainly, Joseph just needs attention, babies need to feel comforted. However, at times he has woken and cried the house down cus he is just plain hungry or narky.

Suppose the only way to find out is to cross off what it could be;

* The shock of being woken up?
* Hungry?
* Lonely?
* Tired?

Is there a way of putting the phone on a lower ringer? Apparently, babies like the sound of white noise, it's suppose to remind them of being in the womb. Maybe you could play that while you get him to sleep and during?

I also read and was told that you shouldn't put a baby in their cot every ime they sleep, otherwise they won't get use to the sounds of the house. Do you put you baby in the cot all the time? If so, have you tried letting him sleep in the living room during the day with the TV on etc???

The above is just what I have experienced, though xx

Could it be wind? Ellie has colic and gets really bad trapped wind, she can be fast asleep then wake up screaming in pain and nothing we do comforts her until it passes....

It seems to happen at anytime of day and it has now got worse when he is in the car. He can be ready to fall asleep when the car is moving, but when we stop at traffic lights or a roundabout, he starts the same sounding cry and stops when we move again.

I am begining to think this is his new "I'm not happy cry" rather than his I'm in pain one.

Guess it is just a phase and it will pass. He is probably just expressing his feelings. I will keep an eye on him just incase it is wind.

Thanks

Finn has been crying a lot too recently and it was suggested that, although he might not be teething, things might be starting to move under the surface. I bought teething powder for him.

Oh I forgot, another reason why he cried really high pitched the other day was that he was constipated and it was quickly solved with a touch of cooled boiled water.
