cloth washable sanitary towels are good too ..and the breastpads be well more comfy no doubt xxxxxx..the jamrags deffo are .. I wished I got them earlier especially for after labour. xx

:rotfl: LMAO at Jamrags I haven't heard that in ages!! About how many do you get through a day if I was to use cloth ones?

hi hun..

well i would say that cloth pads would hold a hell of a lot more.. and there is less liklyhood to be 'run off' so to speak.. i have had 2 women buy my pads and use them at maternity pads i want to add a maternity range but i havn't got round to it yet.

anyway i would say around 4 a day would be fine and as you would just have had a baby and not be up to washing to much i would get 3 days worth and keep on top of the washing. then as mids said you can reuse them for periods so i would say 10-12 pads and that will last you years and years..

I just used tescos maternity pads, got through about 6/7 packs of those before i switched to a sanitary towel as the bleeding had got light.
I swear by tommee tippee closer to nature breastpads, a bit expensive at a fiver a pack but i found that other makes stuck to my nipples  and leaked.
I have some reusable ones but i used a pair once and never found them comfy plus they are quite noticable through your top, so if i had have got on with them i would have only used them at night.

Yay they look good. The only other thing is would they be okay to hand wash? We dont have a washing machine I can get a load and wash them at the laundrette once a week if its needed, but would prefer washing at home because then I can do it when ever I like. :)

yeah course.. thats what our grannies used to do lol..

 Rock on granny kool! LOL! Yay looks like thats made my mind up then! :D

I've just been looking at your website, they look a lot comfier than normal pads, I might be buying some off you soon!

Sorry to hijack your thread Nicki
At the moment I'm using superdrugs own brand disposable breast pads and I find them comfortable, actually I forget I've got them on sometimes!! They were about 2 pounds for a pack of 30 I think, I'd go and look but I'm to achey to climb the stairs!

I've just bought Boots own washable breast pads. They are so comfy. Was originally buying disposables but they drove me mad. Now i've saved myself a bit of cash. These get softer each time i wash them.

With sanitary towels i bought Tesco own brand, like 20something pence a pack and wore 2-3 at a time. Then wasn't bothered as they were stupidly cheap.

i just bought some washable ones from toys r us. they come in a little pot with a washbag. i got 6 for a fiver.

it says on the pack that they get softer with each wash.

i just got fed up of having loads of used breastpads everywhere, and my bin being full of them all the time! i figured i'm going to be doing so much washing anywhere when she's here that i may as well just throw them in with the clothes instead of filling up the bin!!!

i used boots maternity pads (but only needed them for about 10 days)

and i use avent washable breast pads. they're fab at containing leaks, but show through clothes :? so i end up wearing 2 tops to disguise them - but then that works well for bf-ing anyway (i pull one top up and one top down - hides boobs and belly that way!)

:D

I love the boots own slim breastpads. I had some washable ones for a while, but after a few weeks I found that they lost their absorbancy and began to leak. Plus they showed under my tops.

For sanitary wear after labour, I used always nighttime. I never had a leak, but I wish I'd thought about cloth or maternity pads - I had a lot of stitches and swelling, and I think the always added to some of the pain as they're not that soft on raw skin.

I never needed breast pads as I never produced any milk :( so I can't help you with that one.

I preferred the Tesco own brand maternity pads and normal night time sanitary towels. I wore 2 at a time for the length the first 2 days to stop any leaks. xxx

I bought some disposable breast pads at asda cause they were on offer! two boxes I think they were £3?? not sure, thought I would buy them while they were on offer!

I use reusable breast pads there so much more comfortable :D i used disposables during pregnancy and thay go hard with the milk, bad for the enviroment and it saves money.
I leaked quite a lot at the start especially at night so needed 5 a day but that setled down and now i dont use them at all anymore.
Thay dont cost to much to buy there easy to wash and yes if i ran out and need some id hand wash them and it worked just as well and thay dont take to long to dry
Thay do show a bit under tops and i found after a while they did lose there absorabany and i would wake soaked even wearing them.
But a i say i did leak a huge amount at the start and need to wash them often so i bought a second pack

Ive never used reusable santiry towels but im thinking of giving them ago :D

sarah xx

I used asda maternity pads. I only needed to use about 6 a day at the most I would say. As for breast pads I bought tommee tippee ones but never used them as my boobs hardly leaked at all so I can't really comment on that one.

I used Sainsburys mat pads and Tommee Tippee breast pads :D

i used sainsburys and tesco maternity pads, the boots ones were rubbish

for me the washable breastpads leaked like crazy. The only ones that worked and stopped leaking was the Tommee Teepee ones.
(I could probably get away with wearing the washable ones now though as I barely ever leak these days, but I still stick to Tommee Teepee in any case).

As for sanitary towels, I found that Kotex nighttime ones were nice and big and soft and comfy, unlike Tesco's maternity ones which are nice and big but were really hard like sitting on bricks.

Avent washable pads really show through clothes and if you leak a lot they don't work - your top gets wet. And the fleece has gone bobbly and feels uncomfortable.

Tommee Tippee disposables are a really good size - very thin and with a big circumference. Unfortunately they don't feel that great - like disposable nappies.

I love the Johnson breast pads - no leakage and they are really soft and comfy. They are often half price in Sainsbury's so I just stock up then!
