Just a little post to say what a fantastic idea having a section just for preemies!!

I hope this section really helps all those that need it.

Well done Sami, you are full of bright ideas :)

before before 37 weeks is prem

aww this is a brilliant area to have, ella was a preemie

Thank you Dionne
my don't don't count as prem as they were both born
at exactley 37 weeks

They say before 37 weeks, but before 36 is normally when they need a bit of extra help, after 36 weeks baby has a high chance of being fine. Preemie is a nickname I adopted along the way :D

Here are the defiations from Bliss, The premature baby charity

Definitions
Premature baby: Born before 37 weeks
Moderately premature baby: Born between 35 and 37 weeks
Very premature baby: Born between 29 and 34 weeks
Extremely premature baby: Born between 24 and 28 weeks
Low birthweight baby: Weighs less than 2,500g (5.5 lbs)
Very low birthweight baby: Weighs less than 1,500gms (3.0 lbs)

Even though Damien was a very premture baby, he was a high birthweight (2.635kg, or 5lb 13oz) so was as well as a moderately prem baby.

Aw thanks hun, thats made it easier for me to understand
as you know i get confused quite easily

I'll leave you alone now :D

LOL you are more than welcome to come and nose! Ask anything you like, I don't mind talkig about it :) It's not something many people consider when pregnant to be honest, but there were 42,500 births between 22 to 36 weeks in 2004, and apparently is on the rise. Considering the amount of babes born each year it isn't that high, but sounds it when you look at it like that!

This page from Bliss makes more sense than me rambling.
