On Tuesday my husband was sick and I had to do all the feeds in case Kai caught something. So I changed the routine from 9.30 and 1.00 to 10 and then whenever Kai woke up. It didn't work so great the 1st night, as he woke up at 3.30 for a feed.

But the last 2 mornings I have fed him at around 5.45, hopefully he will stretch it out a little longer tonight, maybe to 7.

A question though my husband said he was awake from 5 this morning, should you feed him when he is awake or wait until he moans? Because I only wake up when I hear him moaning.

I would wait until you're sure it's hunger rather than just tiredness and needing to go back to sleep. Mel was sleeping through from about 8 weeks and it happened by him waking later and later for a feed. I had him in a routine where I always fed him at 7am and when it got to him waking at 6am I used to cuddle him or encourage him to go back to sleep until the 7am feed and this seemed to work fine. Frankly with my hungry lad you know when he's really hungry and there's no putting him off whatsoever when he is! Mind you he was on a formula for hungry babies and was over the 70% centile in weight at the time which I think is pretty crucial to whether they are capable of going that long without a feed. For quite a while I fed him at about 12 midnight after having a couple of hours nap myself and this also helped. Once he was going to 7am roughly I then pushed it forward to a 11.30 night feed and this worked brilliantly until a few weeks ago when he started getting hungrier again! Now I've started the weaning process I'm hoping he'll go through again in a few weeks time as he tends to wake up cooing at about 5.30 now!

Good luck with it- sounds like you're so nearly there!
