Toughy here...

LO is due on 7th September, and my brother is getting married on the 8th! I'll hopefully already have had my LO as I am having a section and this should be about a week or so before, but obviously this may not go to plan.

They are having a registry office wedding with only parents and their children there, and everyone else is invited after. It will be an open house at theirs, with a marquee, hog roast and bbq. So I don't need anything too formal, but would like to try and look nice.

I would like to be able to get organised now as I can't see me having the time or inclination to go shopping just before the wedding. So I need something that will be comfortable because of the section scar, practical, and stretchy! (can't see me being back to a size 12 by then!!)

Any ideas anyone??????

I think a floaty dress that shows off the boobs, with an empire cut so it will skim the tummy and bottom half. I'm sure Next or River Island will have some nice ones. I hope I explained it right :D

That's the sort of style I meant, a babydoll dress!

Or maybe have a look in monsoon, they do lots of floaty dresses!

xox

Are you planning on breastfeeding? If you are then a dress isn't the most practical item for subtle feeding  (that used to drive me mad when I went to "do's" when breastfeeding was dying to get back into a dress!)

For a couple of weeks after the birth I still wore maternity wear, so have look for some under the bump styled trousers or skirt which you can belt up if you are skinner than you thought you would be (hopefully they won't rub). Sorry I can't help more than that xx

having hadc sections you really dont want anything touching your scar.

i love that white dress from debenhams

I love the white one too but can you wear white to someone elses wedding? :?

trousers are a good idea sami, and you can get great ones that dont touch the scar. see you were help

LOL I just thought about what I was wearing after the birth and forgot I didn't have a section

sometimes i dont know which birth i would prefer. of course i would prefer natural, as quicker recovery and easier to get back into shape unless you tear your stomach muscles. but i think that i would rather have stitches in my belly then in my underneath

I didn't have any stitches, but he was prem (although a fatty at 5lb 13oz) so he might have 'fell out' easier
My stomach muscles were a bit buggered and they wern't sure if they would go back, now they have all the fat from my sides I had has gathered at the front

Thanks for all the ideas girls. I do love that white dress in fact. The bride isn't actually wearing white (second marriage for both of them) so I can get away with it! I have a lovely light cardigan that would go great over the top of that as well. I'm not breastfeeding so don't have to worry about having them accessable, but wouldn't mind showing them off a bit!!! I haven't wore a dress for ages so that it would be nice. I have a couple of lovely maternity ones, but they don't look very ladylike when I'm sitting down as I can't close my legs properly because of my bump!! I sit like my 85 year old gran!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
