iv been looking for ideas for my wedding dress (id post pictures but dont know how to properly  ) anyway i was wondering what people thought about a train on your dress? i love one, NOT long but a decent length?

does anyone think trains get in the way at night for the dancing and that?

When I first thought about wedding dresses, I was thinking that I didn't want a train, but then after trying on some dresses with trains, I came to love them. Mine wasn't too long, and there was a little loop attached to the back so that you can bustle up the train. And I've seen some women who had dresses with trains that had a wrist strap, so that as you're dancing, the train is secured to your wrist and is out of the way.

Ooooo I loved my train.... I think they are soooo romantic.

Its a tad impractical when you've got to pee... but I loved it... I had a loop put into the dress so that I could hook it over my wrist when I was dancing. At the end of the evening though I let it down, and just walked around with it swishing behind me... It was filthy by then anyways.

I had a cathedral length veil too... But that was less practical... plus the wind kept wipping it away... so the pictures of us on the beach were ruined... but that was ok.

forgot to say if you go into more details you can see the train :D

Thank you Lillou...

That dress is sooo pretty... I love the train... :)

oh that dress is so pretty isnt there dresses you can buy with the train that detaches from it im not sure as ive never been married

My wedding dress had a hook at the bum to hook the train up.
In fact just found...

Sorry it's a rubbish photo - the only one I could find of my back was in a "junk" file!

wow your dress is gorgeous too kylie!

id love one with a detachable train, by the end of the night il be dancing like a mad women and dont want to be weighed down or acceidently rip it

il be going down again next sat so will try them all on again :cheer:

Mine was up high enough that I didn't trip up - and we did loads of manic dancing!! lol!!! :rotfl:

My wedding was on Christmas eve and in an old palace so I decided to wear a wintery traditional style.

It was an ivory 3 piece........Thick strapped bodice, straight skirt with long split at the back and a detatchable train that gave the dress an A-line look. xxx

aw that sounds lovely NIE, its such an exciting time, i cant help but get carried away planning everything :D

thats a gorgeous one too! bet you looked beautiful in it!

i think once iv bought one i am never looking at any other ones in case i start changing my mind and doubting my dress  as i think all wedding dresses are gorgeous!

I've been looking at dresses to. We're getting married on Nov 4th, but being 40 +5 weeks pregnant is making it hard to try them on! I need to have this baby soon so i've got an idea of what my body is going to do and buy one off the rail. They will need about 4 weeks to do the alterations aswell.

I had quite a long train but like all the girls are saying, it had a hook and button and when I arrived at the reception, my mum pinned up the back to make it into a bustle. When the train was down, it got filthy on the stones and hubby continuously trod on it all day! It was black at the end of the night!

Anyway, here is one of me and my dad just before going into the church and you can see the length. Oh and in case you are wondering, the armband was to cover up a large tattoo!

And this is in the evening when it was pinned up (we are doing our surprise 'Prince Charming' dance here!)

Good luck!

This was my dress, i got married june this year it had a trail on it but i got a bussel (loop) added so my dress could be hooked up if need be, i hooked it up before the dance but my bridesmaids never did it properly and it fell while dancing but looked really nice having the dress swaying behind me you cant move to much in the dresses any way coz the new husband is to scared to move incase they step on your dress he e(well mine was any way)
hope this works.
