Hi all

this is my first post so bear with me

i am approx 5 weeks pregnant and have had cramping for about 1 week now. I had some slight bleeding a week ago which is when my period should have started but i assume that this was implantation bleeding.

I have had quite bad cramping today and a very very slight show of blood. This was a few hours ago now and no blood since (am driving myself mad checking every minute). The cramping has also improved.

could this still be implantation bleeding?

help......from a very worried mum to be

Hi hun,

Have you had your pregnancy confirmed yet? If i were you i'd book an appointment with your GP asap. This site is great for advice but it's no replacement for a proper, medical assessment. If you can't wait until tomorrow then contact your hospital, if you explain that you're pregnant and are suffering from cramps and bleeding i'm sure they will see you asap. Good luck xxxx

I agree with Bee7, any bleeding in pregnancy should be reported ASAP. But try not to get yourself into a state hun, I understand its hard, I have had two bleeds during this pregnancy and it turned out to be nothing obviously you should definitely get seen to ASAP but I did learn that getting myself into a state made things worse. If you can try and pop over to A+E or see the out of hours GP? xx

Lots of women have bleeds during pregnancy so it's not necessarily a bad thing. I have one at 5 weeks and again at 8 weeks but have a happy and healthy baby to show for it.
On both those occassions I went to see my GP and got referred to the EPU for early scans. Defo get yourself to the GP and see if he/she can refer you on for an early scan.

Hi

Thanks for your replies

I had a bad cramp about 2.30 this afternoon and saw i very small spot of blood at 5.00pm

Since then there has been no blood and my tummy feeling like pulled muscle and no real cramps.

i did a clearview pregnancy test last week which said i was 1-2 weeks and another yesterday which said i was 2-3. I havent had it confirmed but these tests and the fact that i have not had a period sence 7th august i am guessing it is more or less confirmed

any more thoughts

thanks

Your best bet would be to see a doctor/midwife or a&e hun. The stress of worrying about it isn't good for either of you anyway. It could be something as simple as a urine infection but everything needs to be assessed asap.
Good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

At the docs tmrw.

I dont think there is much point going to A&E tonight as the symptoms have stopped and there is no blood at all

the blood i did see was literally a pin head size - i assume that anything serious there would be ongoing pain and lots of blood??

Id ask for a scan anyway, better to just get checked out. Good luck xx
