VB or c-section?

I had a vaginal delivery, I was stuck at 3 for god knows hows long, but still some how managed it, but it was assisted (ventouse)

ive bumped this as we have had a fair few births lately and im still very interested in the figures :D

I was lying in bed wondering about birth statistics last night, and didnt realise there was a poll, so also very interested in the results.....

Im interested as currently have a breech baby, and wondered if the stats of only 3-4% still breech at full term, is similar to the elective c-section results on here... I shall keep watching th poll results with interest!

emergency c for me last time after 30 hrs of labour

Probably planned c this time

Vaginal birth, but almost was an emergnecy C-section as they needed to get Isla out quickly coz her heart rate dropped when I was pushing. She was born using a ventouse and I had an episiotomy. She still has a cone-head, poor love!!

Charlie was emergency c-section under general anaesthetic at 34 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia and risk of fitting so he had to be born bloody quick...

Henry was born by unplanned c-section which was classed as an emergency but was so far removed from the real emergency of charlie's birth that i am not gonna describe it as such - i like the phrase unplanned :) but yeah anyways.. I had been in latent labour for something like 5 days with Henry.. was 12 days overdue.. my waters had gone the night before and were heavy with meconium :puke: i laboured all through the night and come the next morning was only 2 cm dilated - i knew he had to be born that day and i knew i'd be risking uterine rupture if i agreed to syntocin drip to bring on labour properly... so i opted for a calm c-section

I am now too posh to push wahey cos if n when number 3 comes along i'll have a planned c-section. :rotfl:

I really wanted to give birth vaginally with Henry but it just wasn't to be (well i coulda gone for vaginal attempt but after all that long time and not progressing at all i just wanted my baby in my arms sooner rather than laters... chances are we would've ended up in theatre anyways even with the induction so i am really happy i made that choice when i did) and i feel blessed to have two healthy happy sunroof babies and now at least i know what labour feels like and i know what it feels like for waters to break so kinda feel healed from my previous nightmare experience of c-sections..

woah sorry didn't mean to ramble on there lol i shut up now

Unplanned c-section for me.

I was induced and was getting there very slowly, had been at 2-3 cms for about 12 hours, then finally started to progress, got to 6cms and baby's heart rate fell to 50bpm. Was quite close to having a general anasthetic but her heartrate recovered. She had the cord around her neck.

Deffo don't want a section if we have any more, will try my hardest not to have one!

my first was an emergency section at 30 weeks due to reduced blood flow to baby was very emergency if you get my drift and this one was a planned section at 35 weeks due to my waters breaking at 32 weeks. would have loved a VBAC but they were not allowed to induce me due to risk of rupture im not hung up on it now though as it was best for my babies to get out lol :D

Lily was an unplanned elective  Went in for a scan because of the lie at 40weeks and came out 10days later with after having a csection. I got the choice wether after one round of failed induction if I wanted another go or csection (had been prepped 4times already  ) So I chose section and had it the next day at 12pm. So bit of both :rotfl:

Surgeon did say though if I had chose the induction and pushed her out I would have had a still birth on my hands because of the way he found her with the cord when they opened me up :(

I pressed the wrong choice though  Should really have gone with C-Section Planned....

IM having a elective next time though.

Lol cosmic I was reading it thinking 'I don't recognise any of these girls'...that'd be why lol!
