UGH! Help me get this chewing gum off my handbag!

I'm going out tonight, and I've just discovered that my lovely Guess handbag has chewing gum on it

I've scraped off most of it, but has anybody got any ideas how to get the residue off without damaging the bag?

It's foul!

Put some icecubes on it, it will make the gum brittle and should just break off without damaging the bag. It worked when my sisters friend got gum on my mums brand new carpet- my mum never knew

yeah I was gonna say put it in the freezer for an hour then break it off.
