I was thinking we should start the fun from 9th Of jan?? that way we have nye and an extra weekend to get the munchies out the way.

If your up for it could you please decide on whether you want the following:

* Your weightloss to be decided by scales (Good if you like seeing those pounds drop off, prefer to see where you are in weight)
* Weightloss be decided by inch loss (Good if you have less weight to lose, are trying to shift stubborn pounds, have water retention or scales depress you, also good if you are exercising)
* Both.

Whatever is chosen we should stick with otherwise the results wont be accurate. :dance:

Please make a list of 5 goals you would like to achieve with regards to your body and/or health, IE if you are newly preggo from TTC your goals will mainly be health related NOT weight.

A health goal example might be: I'd like to drink xx amount of water per day.

A body goal might be: Id like to lost 4lbs before valentines day.

Method of weightloss/health: Tell us what your method of loss will be maybe you belong to a slimming club, or have your own way of weightloss...

if you want info on different ways of weightloss please pm me, im more then happy to give you ladies some tips :)

A few things to think about
Remember to be realistic, it would be better to attempt to lose 1lb a week then 4lbs, that way you are not putting too much pressure on yourself.

STICK WITH IT! if you having a bad day that's ok, try to make a better choice and if you really need to have that piece of chocolate cake then have it enjoy it don't beat yourself up and move on to have an even better day.

Remember the whole point of this is to take our minds off of TTC with any luck with our minds off of it we'll get preggy even quicker and with less weight so healthier too ;)

This is NOT a diet, I'll check back in on 7th so we all know what we're doing.

Ooo can i join you all?

My goals are:
1. to lose 1-2lbs per week
2. to exercise every day
3. to eat more veg
4. to drink more water
5. to get PG :dance:

I'd prefer to do it by weightloss if thats okay and I will be following Slimming World. I don't attend a class but have all the books and have done it in the past with good results.
 
Yay!! Right these are my 5 goals:

1) To lose at least 1lb a week
2) To go for a walk every night after work and on the weekends no matter what the weather is like. This is how I hope to lose my lb per week - I dont think I am likely to stick to going to a gym or any other exercise in all honesty.
3) To drink a litre of water every day
4) To lose half a stone by Easter (If im not pregnant by then).
5) To eat vegetables/fruit/lentils every day.No more junk food.

I have an extra goal: Its not really weight related but certainly health related - COMPLETELY GIVE UP SMOKING - I dont smoke much now but I do when Im drinking which could be something to do with why I havent conceived yet. Thankfully I dont drink very often at all.
 
my goals:

To lose at least 2lbs a week
drink more water
eat more veg
Walk more
Get PG :D


I need to lose 2 stone before i can be refered to a fertility specialist so i need to try harder than ever before! :talkhand:
 
This is a really good idea and I hope you all reach your goals. I lost 23lbs (which meant I was no longer over weight). I got my BFP while I was on my healthy eating and exercise regime, and I really do think that helped me get my BFP. Good luck girls.
 
Think I might join you ladies..... I'm not too bad but I know I need to loose weight and we're going to see the doc in the new year if we're still not pg and I know they'll tell me to loose some weight so I may as well start now.

my 5 goals are

1, Eat more fruit and Veg
2, Start (and stick to) going to spinning classes again
3, Drink more water EVERY day
4, To loose at least 1lb or more each week
5, Get PG :pray:

I think i'll do it the old fashioned scales way

My 5 goals are:

1. Lose 1lb a week
2. Exercise for 20 mins every day
3. Stop snacking in front of the t.v.
4. Drink 2 litres of water every day
5. Make sure I eat my 5 a day fruit or veg

I'll be following the Weightwatchers plan for the first few weeks, just until I get into a routine and then just try and continue the habit; after all I know deep down what I should and shouldn't be eating, I just don't stick to it very well!!

Method of weight loss - need to see those pounds dropping off, so scales for me

My goals:

1. to lose 1lb a week by eating healthily!!!
2. to get my 5 a day
3. to have more calcium
4. to drink more water
5. to get more exercise (of the non-bd variety)
 
I forgot about myself lol!

1. To return to WW :oops:
2. Have breakfast as soon as i get into work and everyday including weekends.
3. T o drink more water!!!
4. To not eat so much crap and go back to relaxed healthy eating (avoid bad stuff but when really need it have it.)
5. To lose at least 1lb a week
 
TAKING MEASUREMENTS

Everyone that is joining in could you take the following details 9th January BEFORE eating or drinking, PREF in the morning,l make sure bladder has been emptied and then continue to take measurements fortnightly NOT weekly.

Please note them in a notepad you do NOT have the share them but are more then welcome to when u start losing.

If you have or are due on AF please take Hip and waist,bust measurements a week later.

Bust (Over the nipple)
Waist (Across belly button, do not hold ur breath ;))
Hips (Across lower abdomen)
Hips/bum (across ur bum)
Upper Thigh(just under bum)
Thigh (In the middle)
Arm (In the middle of upper arm)
Fore arm(middle of lower arm)
Calf (between knee and ankle in middle)

Weight - If you are weighing yourself then take your weight in stone and lbs, or lbs, or kg stick with this format, weigh yourself 1st thing in the morning ONCE AND ONCE ONLY a week at the same time, ie if u weight yourself on a weds at 8am then the following wednesday should be the same. WOW i love your dedication! i dont need to loose weight at the moment, but once im pg and had my lil chrub can i do this??? (no sure when that'l be but im being positive :lol: )
 
HEALTHIER EATING TIPS

When losing weight no one should be dictated to but here are a few simple tips and they can be fun too :)

* Make sure your diet is colourful and full of veg and fruit, a carrot and lettuce for dinner is not fun but a meal like chicken made with apricots, spinach and peppers with rice can be colourful and more enjoyable!

*Change it up - Don't eat the same foods day in day out, try something new maybe an exotic fruit, or brown rice, if you don't like it at least you tried it!

* It you don't like it then don't eat it. - Porridge is a grat start to the day but if you don't like it then why do u eat it? It might be healthy for you but mentally its not. Eat things you enjoy, even if its naughty have it occasionally or a small portion.

*Start reading labels. Avoid processed foods or those with e numbers, and definatly avoid hydorgenated fats, look for a better option or try something different.

* Experiment- Start cooking again, get out recipe books and tweak them with healthier ingrediants or additions...

* Don't do takeaway unless its a must - Takeaways are lovely once in a while but they are full up with wholesome crap, e numbers not to mention litres of oil, try to recreate those meals at home even if its a burger with chips it WILL be healthier then a macdonalds.

* Remember to snack- whoever said snacking ws bad lied! Its a great way to keep sugar levels down and speed up the metabolism, try nuts, yogurt, smoothies, homemade soups or lf ones...

* Its not a diet its a way of life- Remember everything in balance, don't starve yourself from having what you want, but also don't stuff your face either, have small amounts of yummy foods and you will enjoy it alot more!

*Find support- Ok so we have here with everyone else but get support wherever you can find it, at wrk, at a slimming meeting, the gym form home wherever.

*Set a goal - A new dress, a special occasion? whatever it is picture yourself getting it.

Great idea!! My goals are:

1. Go to the gym 3-4 times a week
2. Loose 10 kg in the next 3 months
3. Drink more water
4. Only eat chocolate 1 day a week
5. Get pregnant (and even more importantly stay pregnant :D )
 
Ooo Sharne do you do this for a living? You sound so professional LOL.

No not professional, professional in experience mind you I learnt alot of things from bodybuilders and used to train to add muscle, used to eat 6 times a day, train 5-6 times a week and used to have a bod like this:

Ahhh those were the days im alot bigger now lol but luckily still have the knowledge, although since the pregnancies have kinda gained quite a bit of weight...

this all sounds fab!

I'm gonna work on my 5 goals and come back here with them - don't want to choose them at random, i want to think about what i really want from the coming year with this one. More than ever want my lust for life back - and a lot of that's disappeared since losses and then eating absolute rubbish!

I also got my BFP while I was on a health regime in september so fingers crossed for us all!

Well I've started today with my healthy regime lol.

I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 11st 8lbs :oops: . I'm only 4ft 11in though so need to lose 3/4 stone to get down to my ideal weight.

I've also done about 10mins on the treadmill............I couldn't manage any more yet but sure if I keep it up I'll be able to go for longer.

OK count me in. Overall I'm not overweight but have a lot of excess weight on my stomach, and I don't exercise.

Goals are:

1. Exercise daily (30 min walk or go to dance class)
2. Eat healthily, more veg and fruit and less red meat
3. Take away or eating out once a week at the most
4. Drink more water (aim for 8 glasses a day)
5. Fit into skinny jeans by my 30th birthday (April)
