I've been told thrush isnt treated the same in pregnancy as it would be normally.

I am on anti biotics for life which means i get this horrible thing every few weeks, i thought i was lucky as i had not had it whilst pregnant.
I woke up yesterday to find that it had caught up with me! I have a supply of things ready but after what i was told i'm a bit nervous to take any tablets or pessaries.

I can't get in to see anybody until tomorrow but am really uncomfortable and im having to take today off due to it.
Does anybody have any tips on what i can do to ease it?

The cream and pessary are ok to use when pregnant but the tablets aren't xx

Yeah the cream was the only thing my doc would prescribe me, I find wearing loose bottoms with no pants helped, while going about the house and in bed:hug:

REALLY!!!

I was told i couldn't use a pessarie!! good news anyway! :)

hope you feel better soon

ahh no how horrible, every few weeks?! Id go insane!!! hope you managed to find something to make you feel better, nothing worse than thrush and a dithering pharmacist...makes me wanna scream, give it to me NOW!! I have been known to use shopping centre toilets in my impatience!

It really is  I say go commando  it really does help!

every few months because anti biotics can bring it on and im on them all the time so i get thrush ALL THE TIME!!

Ive been having cool baths to sooth it but can only have so many.
Im seeing the gp tomorrow so will hopefully be told what to go and get!

I feel your pain hun, i really do. I have had thrush since i became pregnant and nothing is shifting it. Last night in my sleep i scratched so bad that i am bleeding and sore. It really gets you down. I hope the doc can sort it for you xx

I know that live yogurt can help as can those Yakult drinks as it replaces the bacteria that the antibiotics kill off - thats why the thrush thrives. I hope you get some relief

went to the doctors this morning and she said to just use a pessary and the cream.
I have read somewhere that natural yoghurts help so may have to get some in. I have had that before but so hard to eat anything at the minute but will have to force myself! :)

Bio youghurts r good to eat or to put on the sore area too both ways work! i no it sounds yuk but my dr told me to do it and it helped! good luck x

ive done that before and it did help actually. its strange some of the stuff you are told to do isnt it?? :)

yeah, when dr told me i was like ermm no thats discusting but then it got too bad so i used it and it worked. x

I think I would try anything to relieve it  Thank God the cream is working fine

Natural yoghurt is good for it's soothing properties, wasn't thrush but when I was 10 I got really bad sunburn all down the backs of my thighs from lying on a lilo in the pool in Ibiza. Well I couldn't sit down it was so sore and the only thing my mum could get a hold of in the morning was a tub of strawberry yoghurt from the breakfast buffet. :wall2: Needless to say it didn't work quite so well as the natural stuff but wow did I smell nice!!!! Hope you get some relief!!

Really?! When I was preggy, my thrush was treated in the exact same way. it was when i got it that i knew i was def. pregnant. thankfully, I only got it another once in third tri, and it cleared up before the birth.

try a bath with vinegar, natural live yogurt on a pad in your pants for a wee while before a shower...and i know its hard, but try cutting out sugary snacks for a while and it will soon clear up. nothing worse, know how you feel hun xxx
