Hello!

Ok, so my husband and I have never rushed anything and after 10 years together finally thought it would be nice to have a mini person in our lives.

Trouble is, I'm not as healthy as I should be. I have diabetes (type 2), borderline pernicious anemia (Vit B12, not iron), and take tablets for depression, anxiety and OCD. And I'm obese...

I met with an obstetric antenatal team in April, and was not expecting such a thorough MOT and such support - I kinda expected to be told to get real, and sent away with a pamphlet... so I was pleased!

In just over 2 months, I have seriously concentrated on what I eat and tried to increase my exercise. I mean actually do some exercise... and can happily report :
* lost 15lbs so far
* now in the normal range for Vit B12
* lowered my HBa1C (blood sugar) from 86 to 67! They want it as near to 53 as possible...
* I keep a track of "good/bad" days and have more good days recently.

I have a review with the obstetric team in 7 weeks and ideally I want to lose another 20lbs before then. I'll still be obese but less obese..

Also, I hadn't had a period in about 2 years, as I was taking a pill that stopped them. I stopped that pill in January and thankfully periods have fallen back into a 5 week cycle. Was worried they wouldn't come back!!

I'm finding that I am so SO impatient... I wish I had taken better care of myself in the past and that I didn't have to put hubby through this delay. But that's the situation we are in, and I'm trying to fix it now!

Looking forward to reading everyone's stories xx

Hiya and welcome :)
Sounds like you’ve been doing some really good ground work to improving your health.
There’s a type 2 diabetes specialist called Jason Fung, he’s reversed peoples diabetes with his approaches.
He has a book called the obesity code and another called the complete guide to fasting. He has lots of videos on YouTube as well. Good luck on your journey x

Brilliant, thanks Princess81 :) I'll take a look!

Hi Auburn:wave: welcome to WTT!
Wow, you have done really well:yay:
Keep up the good work! When are you hoping to start ttc?
Hoping we'll start July/Aug but could be Oct/Nov (skipping Sept - far too many family birthdays in June to avoid:lol: )
xx
