Thank god for MIL

sorry just had to post this i haveOH mum comming tomoz as colby has her first jabs so she said she would come and hold her as i held adele with hers and for a full week after she had them everytime i went near Adele she would scream the place down so thank god his mum is prepared to be the bad one....lol

i had my mum being the bad guy and i was armed with a bottle of milk afterwards

My mum came with me for the first ones, DH came for the 2nd (they were the worst) and I had to do the last ones by myself. But they were actually the best! She calmed down a lot faster. It's horrible isn't it!

with Adele getting her first jabs she was 6 months before she got hers because she was prem but i gave her half a tea spoonfull of calpol before going so she wasnt to bad only screamed for a wee while, but think she hated me for it.

If only we could go through it for them

I cried more then Seren did, after the first time I got a sticker saying I had been good for the nurse. I found the 3rd time the easiest as I fed her whilst she had them and she calmed down so much quicker thanks to the magic boob (like the magic sponge that footballers get).

Doesn't that just make you laugh?!?! I asked DH why when he plays footie if someone gets injured they're writhing around all over the place, but as soon as the magic sponge comes out they are fine?!? He said that it's cos the water is so bloody cold you don't want it too near your knackers for to long!

just back from docs there was a nurse and a hv who i have never met before and they said that MIL couldnt hold her as to many parents werent holding them proper and some of the kids legs were swelling like balloons so the HV just held her. She did scream alot didnt calm down till after i changed her bum after getting the injections as she was screaming so hard she filled her nappy too the wee soul

She seems alot better now fast asleep and hasnt developed a temp as such yet but going to keep a close eye on her for the next few days. Adele gave her a big kiss when she was screaming and said to her what a brave baby you are colby my eyes filled up it was just so sweet
