OMG its just occured to me that Morgan could be teething...but surely its too early?

hes got rosy cheeks and a snotty nose so i thought he had a cold but he's really dribbly and keeps trying to put his fingers in his mouth. I just gave him his dummy and he's trying to chew it.

this would be just our luck, we still havent got to grips with his colic!!

My nephew had two teeth at 3 months then nothing again till 9 months xx

i dunno if urs is teething but i also dont no if mines teething as my lil man always put his hands in his mouth and dribbles alot to now an sometimes has read cheeks, check ur lil uns gums if there beginning to go white it means ur lil uns prob starting to get ready although might not get teeth just yet poss bout 5 months ya never know. oh an i no wat u mean bout the dummy sucking sometimes i think hes so hungry to eat the dummy but i think it helps him also ive noticed that he puts his tongue over his comes like moving it all the time seems wierd so they all cud be a connection an getting ready for teeth. or is it where the gums go rock hard i duno just things ive been told lol. good look if ur babys got colic an getting ready for teething that will be dreading. xx

Ava-Mai is similar!!
I went to the baby event at ASDA and got this teething thing for £6 with the rings you can freeze and a few other bits in, just incase!!

I have fet her gums as people say when they go firmer that could be a sign if you can't get a proper look?? I have no clue as don't know what they were meant to be like before :wall2: waiting for my mum to check STILL!!!

Sorry to be nosy tiny but what do you use for Morgans colic??

Ava-Mai had this bad so we got colief as you can get it off the doctor on prescription...its £11 to buy! I know loads of people who have used infacol and it hasn't helped but this seems to do the trick! we had 2/3 bad nights with Ava then nothing since bearing in mind she was 3-4 weeks old at the time :)
Didn't know from your comment if he was still having trouble with it! xxxx

Infacol is great x

Gripe water seems to be working for my sons colic.
Teething wise, it could well be tiny!
Morgan could get a tooth through soon, but he could also just teethe for a long time. My niece started teething at about 3 mths... didnt get her first tooth until just after her 1st birthday! My daughter started at around 6 mths... and got her first tooth through at about 8 months? I guess when they get them early it seems to take a while for the rest, but when they are a bit older... they just keep coming.

Some kids sail through all teeth, some struggle. My daughter was fine with the front 4 teeth... the back ones... Jesus! A chest infection, awful nappy rash and OTT diarrhoea with every single back tooth she got. At least it wasn't with every single one of her teeth though!

Like Katie said, prob get one of the teething rings u can keep cold and see if that helps, prob wait til Morgan is a little older to try things like Calgel ~(not sure how old they have to be), but the cold... that could def be due to teething!
xx

Thanks for all your comments. He definately has a cold at the mo, Im having to suction out bogeys severa times a day and use nasosal drops. poor little man.

Yeah we're using coleif too Katie, although not on prescription! I will definately be getting that Ive spent so much already as the pot only seems to last a week! Down to 4.99 in Tesco at the mo so I bought 3  we use gripe water occasioanlly too if he's still bad after the feeds. Hes much better on the colief, my mum gave him a feed without the other day cos she didnt put her glasses on and read "SMA" as "soya" :wall: He was really sick for about 24 hours afterwards so its convinced me we definately need it!

I used to buy it until one of the nursery nurses told me to phone the doctors for a prescription. I was told they don't prescribe it unless you have used it and now it works because of the price...not sure if thats true though!!

We go through one a week aswell, it means two trips to the doctors a week, one to put the prescription in another to pic it up but its only a short walk and worth it to save £11 a week!!

Hope morgan is feeling better!! xxx

thanks hun. I asked the GP at his 8 week check and she said they dont prescibe it. :wall: they also dont prescribe domperidome which the breast feeding advisor says I need to improve my milk supply. Its so frustrating cos if they would give me the drugs to improve my milk supply, he might not have colic cos I wouldnt need to bottle feed. But I have to cos they wont, and htey wont give me the only medicine that works for his colic :wall:

talk about vicious circle Tiny, they really got you tied up there haven't they...have they said why they won't prescribe domperidome? Is it worth asking the HV to speak to your GP and plead your case?

already got the health visitor to plead and the breast feeding specialist sent him the info. Its because its not liscenced for lactation. Its supposed to be for indigestion. And I have no idea why they dont prescribe colief but the GP said if Im finding it expensive try other ones like infacol. I dont think he knows how colief works at all.

I'm amazed he won't prescribe Colief - he clearly doesn't understand that not every 'remedy' works for every baby...

As for the domperidome, do you feel a partcularly nasty bout of indigestion coming on?!

Rather than making an appointment to see the doctor.. Call up first thing in the morning, And ask for an emergency appointment with the on call doctor. Then you can plead your case to someone else, and they are usually so busy they just give you what you want and kick you out!

Can you order prescriptions over the phone tiny???
You could always phone up and hope for the best :)

I can't believe he wouldn't prescribe it for you, imagine if you couldn't afford it every week!! Not every baby is the same so what works for some wont work for them all!!

xxx

I bloody cant afford it im using my overdraft  gonna speak to health visitor about chsing for a coleif prescription.

I can't believe he wouldn't give you a prescription, what a joke x

back to the teething issue, hes been grumpy today so i checked and as soon as i touched his upper gum he bit down hard and i definatey felt a tooth :faint:
