I had been lead to believe that in order to furfil my job role I would be unable to go part time and although finanically at the moment this isn't possible it should be within 12 months!
In generally conversation my boss asked if I planned on having more kids! I said I did but would have to get a part time job first! She seemed very shocked by this and said she believed I should be able to furfil my duties part time! She even encouraged me to find out what my take home would be after tax!
I didn't think we would be able to manage to hubbie has looked at books and thinks we will
but only after another baby so I would be entitled to fullmaternity pay 
A bit shelled shocked if I'm honest cos was convinced I'd be looking for another job

Brilliant indeed...your boss understandably doesn't want to lose you and so they shouldn't.
