Hi

I'd love to swop trying tactics. To anyone who is trying... what tactics are you trying (eg BD every other day, every day over ovulation, legs in the air etc) And to anyone who is pregnant.... did you do anything different the month you became pregnant?

I've decided this month we're gonna BD every 3 days and on day 11, 12 and 13 DB every day. I thought i was ovulating on day 10 (after af) but now i think it's more like day 13. I'm worried that too much BD might waste the DH sperms. But not BD enough may cause damage. Is it true that going 7 days without BD will damage the DH sperm? also do you think throwing the legs in the air does any good? I've not tried this yet!!!!!

Good luck trying and congrats to anyone lucky enough to get their BFP...

Hi Hayley,

After last months disapointing AF. ( I had convinced myself I was PG )

Me and my partner have decided to decorate sounds weird I no but we have already done our smallest room in a week and we are starting our landing stairs. sounds strange but we thought if we occupy our minds with somthing other then babies, it might work, and i have to say our sweet loving has been really passionate for it sorry! I think because we have a different goal and there is not to much pressure on baby making. I am hoping that because we are both relaxed it may just work

I hope

We have however been sticking to him on top and deep penetration   sorry!!! and definitly on th spot loving making may help and not planned dont want to give to much away but any time any where etc

sorry got carried away

sarah :

If your body is producing fertile cervical fluid just before ovulation, you shouldn't need to wave your legs in the air, because the sperm should find its way up through the fluid, whichever way your legs are pointing.

When we were trying we didn't worry at all about holding my legs up or anything and it worked fine.

From what I have read the best way to keep the sperm at the right qualilty is to BD every other day in the week leading up to ovulation. In fertile cervical fluid, sperm can live up to five days anyway, so there should be plenty of fishes hanging around waiting for the egg.

If you are in any doubt. I recommend "taking charge of your fertility" book. I'm not saying that it made us pregnant, but due to the knowledge I gained from it, I certainly felt as though I was more in control of the situation and we actually got pregnant on the first attempt.     we were very shocked that it happened so quickly.

Hi Hayley,
My cycle is 24 days, so this is now CD6 for me. DH and I BD last night (as AF has just finished the pevious day) and we're planning to BD every other day this month until just after ovulation. I'm also trying to closely monitor CM along with charting this month to give us the best possible chance. If I can accurately pinpoint ovulation we will also BD on that day too. It was funny last night though because afterwards I lay still with my legs up against the wall! (I'm hoping this will help!)
Wishing you and all other TTC'ers lots and lots of luck! :)

Hi

Thanks for your reply... made me laugh... he he.. it can be hard tryign to find the right words!

So today is day one! (ticket is a little fast) I'll give DH the next 4 or 5 days to build up as much energy as he can then we're going for it...... for following 10 should be fun! (that's only 5 times in 10 days) My husband works a few nites a week so the nites he's off he tends to be really worn out... might have to try christening other rooms of the house to keep him awake (apart from the usual bedroom). Is it wrong to christen the garden? well the weather has been warming up.... he he he!

What this space.... i'll be back in a few weeks with a BFP!

definitly christen the garden, just watch out for those curtain twitchers

hehehehe

I have specific order from my gyno to BD everday from day 10-20 of my cycle, to lay still from approx 20 min and elevate my feet. Here goes......... :)

spoke to DH - he's okay about us BD every other day starting this saturday. He agree's this months is going to be our month. He made me promise to give him warning and not jump on him when he opens the front door. Might go shopping for some nice underwear - if where gonna do this we night make it loads of fun... good luck to all trying this month.....

Hi Hayley

It's good to see you are back!! I am still here ttc too!!!!!!!

I have been to see my doctor as we have been ttc over a year now and I have an appointment on monday with the nurse who is going to take my blood, depending on the result my dh may have to go and give a sample of his little fishies ;)

Although I was happy to see your messages, I was a little sad that you hadn"t been lucky enough to get your BFP!! Have you heard abything from Rachel ?? I think she got her BFP!!

Take Care
Sending you lots of baby dust!!!!! :)

Hi Lindsey

Nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear you haven't got you BFP either. To tell you the truth we keep stopping and starting with the whole trying thing!. I had a girlie holiday planned for June (my last one) so we decided to stop trying just before. I feel we haven't been trying as hard as we could have. Last month we completely missed my fertile period. But we've decided this month we are putting everything into it. All our energy.... I've been off the pill now since last September although we didn't really want to start trying till Jan. We went to San Francisco In Jan (late honeymoon) so we thought we'd give it a go there but unfortunatley it didn't work!

I haven't seen rachel on here for a while. I'd love to know if she got her BFP - the last i heard she was suffering from cysts - poor rach.... rachel if your out there put us out of our missery... let us know if you got your BFP.

Hope all your tests results turn out okay. Good luck... i'll share this month with you.... this month is gonna be good for us.... lots of baby dust*************************************

Hi again

To be honest with you we have stops and starts too - not that I told the dr that, i laid it on really thick with him so he now thinks that I am neurotic pregnancy obsessed lady!!! well I wanted him to take me seriously! He was really kind though, he told me that we are in it together and he will be there every step of the way!!

I am slightly worried though, I need to test my blood 7 days before my AF is due, however I always get brown discharge before hand so just hope that I am going on the right day!

This month has been difficult, we have had my brother stay with us for 2 weeks while my mum and dad went away on holiday, so we have only been able to bd the once so far, when he went out for the night with friends, luckily it was on day 18, the day which tends to be when I detect ovulation, we go away in 2 weeks so feel pleased that I am setting the wheels in motion before we go away.

Good luck, am so hoping that you get your BFP this month :)

Xxx

Hi everyone,
Relaxing and not thinking about getting pregnant (impossible I know) seems to be the most successful thing for those who have been successful. A friend loaned me Persona this month and it's fantastic. I've only been trying since may but the frustration has been really getting to me these past two months as friends conceived almost immediately. With Persona I now know when I'm definitely ovuating - it tells you a day or two beforehand that it's imment- so I have one less thing to worry about.
Good luck everyone.

Hi

I've tried personna and i don't recomend it. You have to use it for a long time before it starts to recognise your pattern. If you use someone else's it still recognises their cycle and will give you a false reading. It never looses memory. The first month using personna you have to use 2 boxes of test sticks and every day is classed as a fertile day. Even when I know my self it isn't. The 2nd month I had a full 14 days fertile, again I know this is not true. So until you've had a good 4 months of using personna your non the wiser. It takes at least 3 months to tell you when your ovualating and that's not even definate. Sorry to be so negative about personna but unless yur gonna be patient I don't advise buying it or borrowing a friends.

Hi Hayley

Nice to see you back on here. If I were you I'd sell the persona on Ebay and use the money to go out with hubby for a nice meal and a few drinks!! Don't worry hun your time will come. xx

Hi Kim

I've just popped on in my lunch hour... How are you? Wow 17 weeks already. That has flown by. Are the weeks flying by for you? Are you showing now? Don't know if you've read my post in TRYING... but i've decied this month is going to be mine. We became a little lazy when it came to trying.... but this month we're gonna try every other day for 15 days. I stopped smoking last december, this month i haven't touched a bit of alchol. I'm eating fruit and taking all my vits..... Hubby is also in shape.

Nice to hear from you. Hope you've had a healthy, easy pregnancy so far. Hope your enjoying every minute of it.

Hi Hayley,
I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Persona. Have you stopped using it? It's my first month with it. I swiped it's memory by using a clean stick. I don't mind the expense of it to be honest as I had no idea when I was ovulating so I was very pleased to see it recognised I ovulated the first month. This was worth the £20 spent on sticks. It may not work for me either but I wanted to give it a go.
I hope this is your month. And I agree with the advice given to sell it if you don't think its' you and buy a nice meal for yourself and your husband.
Take care,
S

Hayley,
I was concerned that Persona had worked so badly for you so I re-read my instructions. It says:
Reprogramming your Monitor erases all the previous information stored about your cycles.
The procedure is not reversible - previously stored information cannot be retrieved.
Persona will see you as a new user.

I think they recommed that you don't pass it onto a friend because they don't want to lose out on sales!

I'd give it another go. if you've done if now for two months it would be a shame to give up. it should be getting used to your cycle now. Two of my friends got pregnant with it.
Good luck with it Hayley.

I don't want to put a downer on it but I have heard that even when it tells you it's your fertile time, it doesn't actually mean that you did ovulate, just that if you were going to, that would be the time when it would happen. That's what put me off it. Sorry if this disappoints anyone but if it is true there may be thousands of women out there not seeking medical advice when it may be needed because they rely on the results of the persona. I don't know if it's true even, but it's worth considering.

I don't doubt this. Do you think ovulation sticks are more reliable?
Lord i don't know what to try!!

Hi

I swiped it with a clean stick the first time to clear the memory and i assumed this mean't i would be a new user to the machine but I don't think it works like that. I've spoken to the Personna call centre and they explained that swipping the machine with a clean stick shoud only be done when you've had a break from using personna. It records that your starting again fresh. The information from previous times will always remain in the machine. I don't understand it 100%. If it works for you then it must be good. I just didn't like it. The first month wont tell you you've ovulated. Did you say you detected ovulation? this appears as a little sign in the window. The machine booklet says it would take upto 3 months to detect ovulation. I did have many red days in the first month (approx 14) this is not ovulating - red days are to make you aware you could get pregnant. But this is why I don't like it.... Over the 16 red days I didn't know when I was ovulating. I didn't want to BD for the full 16 days as i've read to much BD can weaken the sperm count. The second month I has 8 red days. They where getting less and less but again i still didn't know when I was ovulating.

But please don't let me put you off. Everyone has a different way and what ever works for you keep doing.....

I think i'll sell it to my cousin who doesn't want to become pregnant....
