Sweep

I am 40 weeks tomorrow and had a sweep yesterday. I had a bit of brown bleeding yesterday which eased off but today I have had a few brown mucus clots.

Just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has experienced this?

BTW She told me I was 2-3cm dilated and practically completely effaced?

Hi, not too sure but didn't want to read and run! I haven't had a sweep yet...

I think it sounds like you are loosing some plug which is normal, plus i found this information via Google...

Effacement is the process by which the cervix prepares for delivery. After the baby has engaged in the pelvis, it gradually drops closer to the cervix; the cervix gradually softens, shortens and becomes thinner. You might hear phrases like “ripens,” or “cervical thinning” which refer to effacement.
Effacement is measured in percentages. For example, your health care provider may tell you that you are effaced 50%, which means you are half way to being completely effaced. When you are 100% effaced or completely effaced, your cervix is paper-thin and labor is right around the corner.

Thanks for not reading and ignoring as so many people seem to do!

I hope so she said she only thought it would be a few days as she felt babies head was so low and she felt she almost broke my waters!
