sweep

i am 40 weeks and 3 days pg and was just wondering wot actually happens during a sweep, do you HAVE to have one and who does it the doc nurse or midwife? thought i should better find out as i am already over due?

hey hun... awww i know how ur feeling

ive had 2 sweeps now with my midwife.... bascially you lie on bed with your feet together up under ur bum with ur knees spread (kind of like a frog lol) then she will try and push 2 fingers into u cervix. depending on how ur cervix is doing she will try and run her fingers around ur cervix. if ur really relaxed it dont hurt at all... feels more like a man with no idea fingering you lol
it doesnt last long... also if she cant reach ur cevix she may ask you to make fists with ur hands and sit on them its meant to bring cervix forward so they can reach it lol

i dont know how successful they are meant to be... but 2 havent worked for me lol

thanks for that it has really helped i hope i dont need to have one i got till thursday till i see doc next hoping summit has happened by then
