Hi All,

Im really concerned now.. Ollie is sweating a ridiculous amount and i was that concerned i just rang the out of hours doctor. When he woke up he was drenched through (he keeps soaking one side of his back) I changed his clothes and within minutes he was soaked again. So much so he also soaked through my OH's jogging bottoms all the way round to the back and soaking the bed.

This isnt right atall. The out of hours doctor said that theres nothing they can do and that i should just go and see the doc tomorrow and get him referred to a paedeotrician.

His temperature isnt up (even though he has a cold) so im worried its something serious. If it was just mild i wouldnt worry so much. I cant stop bloody crying either as im that concerned! (that doesnt help matters)

hi i hope your ok...

my daughter did this when she was younger and i got really woried i took her to doctors and they just said there was nothing wrong with her and that some babies are very swetty.. and my daughters fine now she still swetts more some nuights for no reason..
try not to worry too much i know its worrying when anything is wrong with your children but id just wait and take him to doctors or id rig nhs direct and tell them how worried you are and as a mother you dont think its normal, i find there good whenever i have phoned about my daughter even if its been soething thats sounded silly they have always made sure my mind is at rest before they go off phone..(which takes a whle lol) let me know how you get on hope hes feeling better soon.

Well i phoned NHS direct after i rang the out of hours doc and they first said ring the out of hours doc but after i told them i already had they said to take him to A & E if im still concerned. Ive just felt him again and he soaked through another babygrow. Its not right atall. Im going to take him down there.

this might sound really silly but are you making sure his 'diddle' is pointing down. I know if I don't make sure Daniel's is he gets very wet just how your describing.

Just an idea. Hope he's ok anyway xx

I'm glad you put this because it did cross my mind too. I stopped using a certain brand of nappy because they used to leak with Evie in the early days...

I really hope this is the problem with your LO nori

Ditto the above two ladies. Galen always always leaked out of one make of nappies, always to the left side as he always points left  Once we sorted out different nappies and they didn't leak then he was fine. Even if I made sure he was pointing down it made no difference. I could be changing him, just have done it up and he'd then wee and leak out the side  It would always be his side and then onto his back. And of course, as he would wee a lot then he'd get more wet if he was sleeping or lying down till I changed him.

He would be soaking and it'd soak through all his clothes and onto whatever he was lying or sitting on.

Often in the early weeks its a case of trial and error finding the right brand of nappy that works on your LO.

Worth thinking about if the Docs give him a clean bill of health.

Well after waiting 3 hours in A & E they checked him over and said that it was quite common that babies cant regulate their temperature at such a young age and he should grow out of it (pretty much what many of you said on here!). I went with a bag load of soaking wet clothes as proof that i wasnt being a hysterical first time mum! (oh and it definately wasnt him peeing.. i'd checked that one)

I feel much better having gone. I cant beleive how crap i am when it comes to not getting upset if there is something wrong with Ollie though. Christ i've been in and out of hospital myself and handle that fine but i was a complete mess this morning. I think the hormones and lack of sleep are taking their toll. This parenting business is a million times harder than i ever imagined. Im hoping i become a slightly calmer parent in time!
