It's ZoeM here - I had to register on here again, so I could use my laptop to post on here from home now, because I just need to have a bloody good moan!!!
I am a Fundraiser and there are a team of six of us where I work, one of whom has been recently appointed as Director of Fundraising, and two of whom are real newbies to my charity, and are still in a*rse licking mode, if you see what I mean
I've been working at my charity for five years, and have just experienced that horrible feeling of being 'surplus to requirements'!!!
I think it's probably all in my head, but we've just had an all day planning meeting, and I asked whether I could come along and help at our Charity Gala Event in the local theatre in December. I was told by one of our new Fundraisers that they had it all covered, and that I'd 'probably be ready to drop at that point'!!! This event is in 13th Dec, and I'm due on 28th Jan!!
They probably don't realise that anything is wrong, or that I have an issue with it, it's just that this has made me feel surplus to their requirments.
My previous boss retired in April this year and I got promoted. It's just a bit unfortunate that the promotion I've been waiting for, for a couple of years has coincided with me having my baby.
And to top it off today, I was told that the person being brought in to cover me whilst I'm on maternity won't be starting until I've left!! I would have thought that at least they would invite that person in so that I could show them how it all works!! Apparently we can't afford it!! I have to leave notes!
I dunno!!.....Is anyone else feeling like this?
Also, I'll be leaving at the end of Dec, so I exptect I won't get a very big send off, as everyone will be on hols!!
