I applied for the Dure Start Maternity Grant just in case, and we've got it!!! :D

I only sent it off on the 24th November, and Charlie was 3 months on the 30th, so I just got it in in time. I only did it just in case, and now £500 is going in our account tomorrow!!!!! I'm in shock!! :D I didn't think we were getting enough benefits to be awarded this, but we obviously are!!! We only get £93 per month tax credits, and that's for 2 kids!!

So if any of you out there with kids younger than 3 months are wondering about whether to bother applying or not, just do it!!!

i think that you have to be getting more than £547 a year in tax credits to be eligible for the grant. So its worth applying after youve had your baby, as you might qualify for tax credits after the birth.

Yeah i got the full amount too and i wasn't expecting it! :cheer: Think its if your getting around £550 a year in tax credits or more.

oooh I'm supposed 2 be applying for that Monday as i'm 29 weeks so it usually takes less than a month to go in then? oooh baby spending!!

I've got to wait until baby comes to apply but I'm going to have my forms filled in nice and early! Thanks for the reminder.

Mine was in the bank about 5 days after i sent off the forms.

Just try Eblinx. I didn't think we could. I earn £24k a year, DH earns £13, but because I'm on maternity leave, my earnings have gone down to about £13k. This means we get it!! :D

It'll take you about 5 mins to fill in the form that you can download from here:

http://www.direct.gov.uk/Bfsl1/Bene...Articles/fs/en?CONTENT_ID=10018854&chk=PLNnya

About halfway down the page, there's a link to a .pdf file you can download. Get your HV to fill in the last page, and send it off.

Worth the price for a stamp??? :D

i might aswell try because me and Dh dont earn that much!
Thanks for the link i will let you know what they say! :cheer:

You can apply from 29 weeks pregnant. It used to be £100, what a difference eh!
