Still not pooped...formula?

Hi,

Ok so Gabriella still hasn't pooped. Things on google say it's not necessarily bad as she is bf.

I'm tempted to give a bottle of formula to see if it gets her moving...what do you think?

Breast milk is a natural laxative while formula can cause constipation, so I'm not sure it would help. Have you tried doing some massage/leg pumping/tummy rubs? How long has it been?

I've tried tummy massage and bicycle legs.

It's been about a week now.

I've read that breast milk is so good there's very little waste, but I'd really like yo see one now!

That is quite a long time, but if she is happy in herself and not seeming to be straining to go then I doubt it's a problem. I have a friend who swore by eating prunes if her LO wasn't going. Not convinced the benefits can pass through breast milk, but it won't do any harm. Maybe mention it to your HV and see what they suggest?

Everything okay now?

My friends son didnt poop for 10 days and when he finally did, it was normal.

Formula tends to lead to more constipation so I would avoid.

Oliver went about 5 days without one xx

Still nothing!

Took her to dr yesterday who said all looked, sounded and felt fine but she should be going. So, he recommended warm water and prescribed a laxative.

Just about to try water now, and really hope that works as I'd rather not have to give her a laxative!
