Hi

I was just wondering at what age you put your babies onto the stage 2 teats. I am currently using mam stage 1 slow for newborn teats after having a nightmare with the avent teats.

Hiya

Hannah uses the Tommee Tippee bottles on her 11pm feed and we went onto the stage 2 teat when she was 3 months old. Mainly because it was taking her ages to get the 8-9 floz that she drank. Now she can do it in 10 minutes!

I think we changed to stage 2 teats at around 3-4 months and continued with them until 12 months when he stopped having a bottle.

Personally I think it is more important to go by what your baby wants rather than the age guidelines. so if your baby wants to drink faster, go up a size. If you do and the milk flow is too fast go back down a size. After all, nipples stay the same so breastfed babies don't change teat size. DD uses size 2 teats even though she should in theory be using size 4 as she doesn't like the faster flow and starts choking on them or spitting out milk as she goes. remember that you do have to change the teats though, even if staying on the same size, every few months.

My LO has been on stage 2 since we started bottle feeding. The stage 2 ones came with the bottle so I thought I'd try them 1st and he seems really happy with it. He feeds well & it doesn't seem too fast for him at all. He never chokes or spits milk out. I think it just depends on your LO.
