I'm not one for believing all I read but thought I'd share this just incase it stops an incident happening. I just typed in 'Sophie the giraffe thinking of getting one for LO to chew on. When I did, it came up with a thread 'sophie giraffe dangerous.' I looked and someone posted a link to the bad reviews on amazon. Loads of people finding their baby with the front leg wedged down their throat choking! I for one will have to leave my baby alone with a toy occasionally so have decided not to get one. I just wanted to pass it on, as it scared me just thinking about it.

My daughter loved hers and I have always given them as presents, makes you think though doesn't it!

they can choke on their own fingers tho, its only really dangerous if it falls apart or is small enough to get lodged in their windpipe. every kid ive seen with one seems to love it for chewing on so i'd air on the side of caution and say i'd still get one if i was planning to. tbh i havent really thought about it as ive got teething rings and wasnt planning on buying more teething toys anyway. i can see how the leg can be blamed for that kind of choking so id deffo not give to lo and leave them lying with it alone.

I have a normal one and the same as beckyboo. At the moment D loves the teething ring one although I don't often give him the bigger one as he doesn't like it as much. When he does have it I don't leave him alone with it x

I heard ppl talking about Sophie & was gona buy one until I seen the price...no chance! I'm not that daft. Looks like I was right, imagine paying that much for a crappy teether & the ears are falling off ect. I wouldn't be very happy if i did buy one
