I know people will say spotting is normal, but it's just not fair. Why is my body doing this to me?

Just days after seeing my lovely bean's heartbeat, my spotting has gone really heavy, heavier than it's ever been and the blood has gone from dark brown to browny red. I don't know what to do. There's no where to go for help and advice. I can't take this, it's so horrible... Why can't things just go smoothly for once?

xxxxxxxxxx

Aww Hun! Really hope things get better soon...

Xx

awww bless u it s not fair there is no help for ppl who spot or bleed in pregnacy !! should change fx for u hunxxx

I've had heavy clotty bleeding on and off since 15 weeks, it stopped about ten days ago but now I'm nearly 22 weeks and all is fine with bubba.

If I were you I'd get myself off to a & e for a scan just to settle your mind.
Xx

I had a bit of a scare yesterday but the blood was not internal the checked babies heart with the doppler and told me baby was well had 2 wait 4 hours for that but u could go 2 a n e

Ohh lovely, so sorry your bean is being so naughty n worrying you! Just wanted to say that my spotting also got a lot heavier and changed colour... It was like a week of really light pink/brown and only when I wiped, and then changed to 3 days of bright red and definitely heavier, enough to soak through my knickers. It really freaked me out too, as its like I could cope with the light spotting but seeing it change really upset me. Mine just completely stopped on the 3rd day of bright red, and fingers crossed has stayed away so far. I really hope yours does too hun!

Have your cramps gone? If you're still having them then I would perhaps go to A+E just for your own reassurance, but if not then try not to worry hun (believe me I know that's easier said then done!) Is your OH there looking after you? Let us know how you get on xxx

I hope that things get better for you soon hon. *HUGS* Can't even begin to imagine how crappy you are feeling!

I felt like that too, when is your next scan Hun?xx

Aw Hun I'm so sorry! :hugs:
I am in the same boat as you and having bleeds on and off. My little bean is still going strong so at leas you know it doesn't always end in doom and gloom. I really hope it eases for you. I have found going to bed and lying on my left side really slows the bleed down and it does stop. X

Ceebee! I'm so sorry your going through this worry. I'm just sure the bean is ok xx

I know how you are feeling hun, I would get yourself to a and e (you'll be glad you went), sending you positive thoughts. xxx

hi chick

so sorry this has happened to you. I had a very very heavy bleed at week 4. i didnt know i was pregnant at the time but i was filling 2 pads a hour for 6 hours. ive been spotting constantly since, my sac is still there ang my hgc is rising rapidly, (47000 6 +3days) and my sac survived. fair enough ive not seen hb but im not too far along yet son not too worried. dont worry. stress wont do your baby or you any good! get your feet up and call the hospital if this persists of gets heavier. ill say a prayer for you xxxx

please go and get checked hun, hope your bean is ok xxxx

So sorry you're going through this hun, if you're really worried go to A&E and get checked, even if it's just for your peace of mind xxx

So sorry to hear this ceebee!!!

When you say heavy, are you using a pad? Is it there when you wipe after using the loo? How long has it been going on for? Any cramping?

A&E is an option hun, but on a Saturday night it could be busy and not all A&E are equipped to deal with this kind of thing (IE they may not be able to scan you)

Only you can judge what you need to do though and I hope whatever you do it brings good news!

xxxxxxxxxx

Thank you all for being there for me:friends:. Thankfully the spotting seems to have eased today, touch wood, but I'm still worried in case something has already happened. It's gone back to being dark brown and tho' I'm still wearing a panty liner, there doesn't seem to be so much on it and I didn't see any dripping in the loo like I did yesterday...

I managed to speak to an out of hours gp yesterday eve, but he just made me feel worse, talking about miscarriage and stuff. He said there was nothing to do but wait and see my gp on Monday. Really couldn't face a & e and like carnat said, it would be a complete nightmare on Saturday night.

Do you think I should ask for another scan from my gp? I'm not sure they will give me one after just having had one this Thursday? Any other suggestions what I can ask gp for? Blood test?

If I don't get a scan on nhs, I'm definitely going to get one done privately in the next week or two as there's not way I'm waiting until 12 week scan.

Do you think I shouldn't move about too much today? I want to go for a walk later as it's such a lovely day, but I'm worried physical activity will make it worse again? Just really need to distract myself as much as possible.

God, this has been the craziest week - in one week I have had strong cramping and thought I lost my bean, seen my bean's heartbeat and felt reassured and now thinking I might have lost my bean again. Bloody nightmare!

Once again, thanks for all your words of support - I'm trying hard to be positive, but the crap just keeps coming you know xxxxx

Sorry to hear about your scare hon, but glad everything is fine :) So, even in tri 2, you're not out of the woods I guess... Hope everything goes smoothly for you from now on xxxxxxxx

Oh thanks ams - I forgot about your heavy spotting... Yeah, I've been having a tiny bit of brown spotting for ages, but seeing it so heavy (dripping into the loo) and change colour was horrible.

I did have a bit of cramping, but I was wondering if that was due to stress, as I only noticed it after I saw the spotting. It seems to have gone now too anyway.

Yeah, DH is being great and taking care of me. I just have to get through the day and try and see someone tomorrow. It's funny, these things alwasy seem to happen at weekends to me...

Thanks for being there as always :friends:xxxx
