As all of you know i maisie is doing blw with me and she is loving it :)
today however i had a horrible migrane and hayfeever so my mum and my sister took over for the day. Maisie has been having slightly mashed potato etc but i have still been letting her feed herself with a spoon and her hands which she loves but today they wouldn't let her feed herself with anything she had they made sure everything was totaly pureed before giving it to her and she was desperatly trying to grab the spoon and my sister wasn't giving it to her arghhhhh !! she also gave her freezing potato !! so annoyed with it all we're now basically back at stage one !!

Maisie should still be fine tomorrow to pick it all up again. My mum really doesnt understand the whole blw thing and feeds her with a spoon. I just let her go with it now.

Drives me potty when people don't listen to you though. My nan was trying to put toast in LOs mouth a while ago and just wouldnt listen when I said no, she'll feed herself if she wants it. In the end I had to actually take the toast off her to get her to stop. Grrrrr.

The thing is Maisie has struggled with picking up the food as it is ! she looks at me as if to say you put it in my mouth she normaly grabs my hand and shoves the food in her mouth before i have a chance to put it down :)

We have mixed weaned Alfie due to reflux we had to start him on puree at 4 months, but now we feed him with the spoon, let him have a go if he likes and anything he can finger feed by himself he will. He does well with mix weaning.

I am sure your LO will pick it back up fine, BLW is hard especially when other people caring for the child dont follow what you say. We wanted to BLW but because of reflux we couldn't but my MIL said its good you havent BLW because he would never learn. HA what a joke that is the whole point of BLW and that is why I introduced mixed weaning when he was ready. Stupid woman
