I have only ever slept on my tummy and find it really difficult to sleep any other way. It still feels ok if I sleep on my belly at the mo, but I was wondering when I shouldnt do it anymore and Im a bit worried cos although I try and sleep on my side, when I wake up I always seem to be on my tummy and Im scared I will hurt the baby....

i was the same, i think you'll know when you shouldnt be sleeping on ur tummy anynmore cos it gets a bit sore, I've found that cuddling a pillow helps me, cos i lay on my side resting my bump on it and lay at an angle towards my tummy and it feels like im sleeping on my tummy.

apparently tho u shouldn't lay on ur tummy or back after 16 weeks cos it restricts the air flow 2 ur bubs. and laying on ur left side is best too, you just have to try to "train" urself to lay on ur side, it means a few nights where u take ages to get to sleep but u get used to it in the end

Ive always slept my best on my tummy so i do the angle thing too, laying across a pillow so you get to feel a bit like you're cheating and lying on your tummy. I also asked the midwife this question and she says "If it doesnt bother or make you uncomfortable then it doesn't hurt the baby." The minute the baby is affected by it, he/she will either kick you to death (later on) to get you to move, or you will feel uncomfortably squashed and move to a different position anyway. xx

You won't hurt your baby by sleeping on your belly, but Baby will let you know if your making it uncomfortable for it, because it will make it DAM uncomfortable for you :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A pregnant woman in our area a while back, had a car accident and a coach fell over onto her car squashing it flat... not only did she and the baby survive, but the baby only had a break to its arm.. So babies are well protected in there little water sacks... :D
