Ellie has started to sleep on her tummy, we wake up and shes on her front every morning and when she has naps during the day she ends up on her front. She obviously finds it comfier on her front, sometimes she cries when you put her down on her back but if you roll her onto her side she goes to sleep.

Is there any reason why she shouldnt be on her front, I could turn her over but seems daft to wake her up and if she's comfy im happy to leave her. What you guys think? x :)

Tom sleeps on his tummy too and has done from about the same age.
I just leave him there. I would disrupt his sleep too much to keep waking him (and mine come to that!).
I think as long as they're able to turn themselves over and lift up their heads it's fine.
I do always put him down on his back but he rolls over within about 10 seconds! xx

Its only a problem if they can't get there themselves, but if they can roll to their tummies, then they are safe to sleep that way. The reason they shouldn't sleep on their tummies when they can't roll there themselves is because if they vomit in their sleep they may lie in and suffocate, but if they are old enough to roll over on their own... then it means they are old enough to move their heads away from the mattress if they feel that they cannot breath, its a reflex they gain with age...

thomas has slept on his belly from 6 weeks old without any problems he will very rarly settle on his back
xx

If she can roll back hunni shes fine, babys automaically tuen there heads anyway when on their tummies.

I wish Finn would sleep on his tummy! He sleeps on his side but recently has tended to roll all the way onto his tummy and wakes up crying - which isn't so good when it's 2am and the 3rd time you've righted him!
