Any Scottish mums around on here?

I am wondering how long you staying in hospital after having your first? Or has anyone been given any indication?

I am planning on asking at my appt next week, but just curious.

It varies on the mum really but I stayed in For 3 nights for help with feeding mostly as I was so determined.

I've also heard of people leaving way within 24 hours if no probs and happy to leave. I didn't at any point feel rushed out the door tho which was good x

Also a Scottish mum! :) I stayed in 2 nights purely to sort out my son's breastfeeding, or it probably would have been 1 x

Good to know I'm not the only Scottish one here! Hi Scottish ladies :)

I was having a look at the Fife page and it says 6-24 hours... Seems a bit short for a first timer. So will double check with midwife.

    Im a bonnie Scot.

I gave birth in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on early hours of 9th Jan and got out 10th Jan. Straight forward easy labour.

It varies on your health and babies afterwards.

Now that Im on my second, should all go well Ill be opting for a 6h discharge.

I'm a fellow Scottish mum too!! I was in one night after ds1 was born and one night before. I was sharing a room with a really in inconsiderate woman so begged to be let home otherwise I would have been in longer xx

I gave birth at Peterhead community hospital but was transferred after birth to Aberdeen royal infirmary due to a haemorrhage. Was in Aberdeen for 2 nights, however there was a chance of me going home after the first night but wee man developed a chesty noise so was kept for observations for an additional night. Really can't fault the staff at either hospital, we received top notch care.

Its good to see so many Scots mums. first timers and multiple timers! Also great to see that the care seems to have been well delivered regardless of region.

Think I am slowly just starting to panic as its getting closer. Decided yesterday I'm not really ready! Feel better about it today though.

When are you due, Copterpops? I'm not due til September but am already quite freaked out about labour! I'll be in the Royal Infirmary, and I've heard they're great, so I know I'll be in good hands - but it's a pretty scary thought!!
