    Hello everyone!

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and although everything looks ok on the surface, they are recalling me in a week because baby wouldn't move into a decent place for them to do their measurements (the sonographer said I have a lazy baby!)

However, she also told me that I have a 'retroverted uterus', apparently this is where my uterus is tipped backwards but she didn't give me much info. Does anyone know if this can have any effect on pregnancy/birth etc? I'm actually a bit worried!

Thanks in advance lovely people xx

I've got one! It shouldn't cause any problems, as the baby grows your uterus will start to move up and out of your pelvis and straighten out. Don't worry x

I have this too! It shouldn't have any implications for pregnancy or birth according to the sonographer who told me xxx

Nope, certainly doesn't cause any issues as far as I know! My mum has one and had no problems with me or my sis.

    I have it
No idea what it means though
    They didn't seem concerned

Apparently eating chocolate will make baby wriggle before the scan x

It just means the uterus is tipped backwards rather than forwards. I know it caused my mum problems conceiving, but none during pregnancy and labour.

I was told in two smears that I had one but had no mention of it by the sonographer strangely!

Phew! So glad to hear so many other people have this too, makes me feel much better, glad it hasn't seemed to cause anyone else any issues.

MrsS - i was told to eat chocolate before my next scan too! Like I needed an excuse!! Xxx
