Regular cycle after the pill... how long?

I came off the pill in August and had a withdrawal bleed a week later. I then had a 34 day cycle followed by a 62 day one. I'm now on CD35 with no sign of AF. I'm just wondering how long it took others for their cycle to get back to normal after the pill and should I be thinking about seeing a doctor, or will he fob me off at this stage by saying that it is too early? x

I think you are going to get some varied answers as it is different for everyone.

I finished the pill Mid Feb, got my first period end of March and BFP very early May.

Yeah, I know. I'm just starting to get frustrated again. Been doing OPKs and temps and it appeared that I ovulated on CD11 (according to FF). Had some light bleeding/spotting on CD20-22 and 24 when I wiped which was either pink or brown, never red and nothing since. Now on CD35 and no sign of AF and not pregnant either. So that makes me think that I didn't ovulate on CD11 otherwise AF would be here by now as luteal phase can only be up to 16dpo. Am thinking that the light bleeding/spotting could had been AF but if it was then surely the blood would had been red and I've never had an AF that's been really really light and that short.

Meh.. just don't know what to think anymore

I guess it depends how long you were on the pill, which brand etc...

Hey how long were you on the pill for and which pill was it, some pills arent as stong as others so for some peple it happens a bit quicker than others. I was on femmodete.... and i had a whitdraw bleed 2 dyas after my last pill and my cycles were clock work 28 - 30 days.... i have been ttc since then(6months). I had a chemical pregnancy beg this month but my wall wasnt sticky enought so egg couldnt implant ( effects of thaking the pill?? im not sure) it will be differen for everyone though honey. Some poeple recommend angus castus? you could try that to regulate you? x

I was on Microgynon 30. Don't know how long for though, around 4 years I think. I know it can take some women longer but was just hoping that after 4 months they would near enough sorted by now. Might look into the angus castus. Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Wish you all the luck for the future x

I was on Microgynon 30. Don't know how long for though, around 4 years I think. I know it can take some women longer but was just hoping that after 4 months they would near enough sorted by now. Might look into the angus castus. Sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy. Wish you all the luck for the future x

I stayrted on microgynon .. was on that for 5 years then went onto femmodete.... 4months is not too bad though honey, i know its frustrating!! But they say it does take time for your body to recover. I wne to my doctor after around 4 months and he just looked at me like i was nuts, and told me to come back after a year!
Do you know when you are ovulating? xx

Yeah, I know it's not, it's like you say, frustrating. Not sure about when I'm ovulating. Used OPKs and temps for the first time after last AF and according to fertility friend I ovulated on 27th November. 26 days later and no AF so it doesn't look like I ovulated afterall. Don't know whether to carry on with OPKs and temps as I'm not sure I trust them anymore! xx

Hey hun i was on yasmin for approx 10yrs and came off end of july. Cycle 1 was 36 days...cycle 2 was 37 days....im still on cycle 3 on day 76. Started agnus castus on the weekend and had bloods done today so gotta wait to c dr with results.

U could c ur dr as then its on record that ur tryin etc so if cycles font sort out u can go back an they are aware of it xxx

Think I might pay a visit to the nurse (she's more friendly then the doctor!) and mention it. Need to go see her for some other reason anyway so will also bring this problem up xx

nearly a yr and half for me, was having reg cycles in that time.....it's just they were 10wks long ( Have been normal for last year now tho

My GP practice has a GP that specialises in Gyno / fertility issues so after M/c number 3 I saw her to get my referral. She was amazing!

Not sure if you are with a large GP practice or not?

Hi hun, I came off the pill nearly a month ago and had AF last week, and it was incredibly light and only lasted 2 days (5 or 6 days is more normal for me).

No real helpful answer to your question as I'm only 1 month in so still waiting to see what my cycles are going to be like. But just wanted to reassure you that you're not the only one experiencing strange AF's after the pill!

I was on the mini-pill and my cycles were horrendous, I could go 3 months without any sign and then have 2 visits from AF in a month! So god knows what I will eventually settle down to, lol. I am desperately hoping that those irregular cycles were only because of the pill and not my normal self! x

I came off it last December (5th) and was on Loestrin.
Withdrawal bleed happened after 5 days and first AF arrived 3 weeks after that, cycles have been regular at 28-30 days since apart from my latest one which was 32 days.
Every period I've had though has been quite light and only lasting 2-3 days.
