Has anybody's reflux/ heartburn continued after pregnancy?

I never suffered with this before pregnancy. As soon as I was 9 weeks pregnant I had it really bad and it continued until I give birth.

Went away completly after i gve birth but came back 6 months post birth. I have been having it regularly and it's awful :-(

Any experiences? Is it still related to hormones or caused by pregnancy? Hope it goes away soon.

Oh no! I'm sorry I can't help as I only had my LO 5 weeks ago but I also had heartburn REALLY bad right from the start and had never had it before in my life - as soon as I had her it went instantly and haven't had it back once... I pray it doesn't return! I feel for ya hun! Xx

Mine has just came back with a vengeance at 8 weeks pp, no idea why?! I had it horrendous from the start of my preg to the end & its come back so badly that even though weve only had a quick fumble at 3 weeks pp, I took a pregnancy tests! Negative of course, but still no clue as to why its back. I'm getting reacquainted with Mr Gaviscon & Mrs Tums lol x

Thanks ladies. Are you breastfeeding? Not sure if its maybe to do with this?

Also getting the gaviscon out and back to not eating much! Damm I love my food!

Yeah I'm breastfeeding, wonder if it is linked? X

Wow, this has happened to me.

Had terrible heartburn in the preg. Gave birth. It immediately went away then about 4 month pp it came back terribly for a few weeks and now it's disappeared again!!!! Lo is 22 weeks

So I went to the drs today as I've had some really horrible days and nights where I just cannot sleep till about 3-4am as I'm just choking on acid! Not nice!

Anyways he said it is quite common post pregnancy usually due to carrying excess weight: but not in my case as I've lost all my pregnancy weight plus an extra 8lbs! So I've got a few tests lined up to find out the cause and I'm back on omeprazole which I took in my third trimester!

Cannot wait for the omeprazole to kick in and sleep properly again.
