My two year old is being a nightmare and I don't know if it's my hormones but I'm struggling to get her to behave and my patience is practically non existent and I feel so guilty to my little girl for shouting but otherwise she doesn't listen and I've tried naughty step and time out and nothing works I'm exhausted all the time and I'm doing it all by myself I'm ten weeks by the way and I'm so stressed any tips?

My biggest tip pick your battles some things I would just let go right over your head. Choose which areas you want to concentrate on and just stick with that. My daughters 4 and we have constant battles especially with the obscene amount of homework she gets daily but I just let it go if something isn't done it isn't done and we pick it up another day. Xz

Hey sorry to read this I do feel for you. I'm sure you mentioned this before but do you have any family or friends that could help? Xx

hi hun !! I got a 2 year old and 3 year old my 3 year old i very hard work :/ I sympathise ,I am sure its a phase and will pass soon xx

I'm sorry you are having a tough time. I totally agree with pp re choosing which battle to fight. DD2 has just turned 2 and has terrible tantrums all the time. So long as she is safe there is no harm in letting her work through it herself. Try to find something else to focus on during difficult times and give plenty of hugs when she is calm and well behaved. Distraction play can work wonders too. If you are really struggling you could talk to your health visitor. Thinking of you.

All toddlers try to assert their power and tantrums is all part and parcel of it. I would agree with ignoring a lot of the behaviour if possible. Shower her with praise when she's good and ignore the bad. I often find if I start doing something else like reading a book when she has a tantrum, that she will sidle over and want to read with me! Reverse physchology!!
Hope you manage to find a method that works for you xx

I sympathise as I have a two year old. I'm lucky that she's pretty good a lot of the time but some days are a nightmare. It's normal which is hopefully reassuring at least. Being two is hard work add they're learning so much and finding out what they can and can't do. They can't always communicate what they want either, and their emotions often take over. I try and reason with my daughter as much as possible but it does sometimes depend on the child. Personally I don't think time out etc is for us, Toddler calm is a good book.
Good luck, I'm definitely not as good a parent as I was since being pregnant with my second, cBeebies is relied on a little too much some days! So don't beat yourself up xx

Hellloooo,

I don't have any kids yet myself, currently got two buns in this one oven.

However!!! My little second cousin was a real horror. She was completely out of control and her mum was very upset because she thought she was failing as a mother!! Which is ridiculous because her eldest is an absolute sweetheart.

So eventually she was put on a gluten/dairy free diet!! This little monster has turned into the most chilled out lovable little girl all through her diet!!

Maybe it could be that? xxxxx
