Question about spotting

My bf said (finally) that we can TTC so I stopped taking BC after only being on it for a month, I've been off it for about a month now with no period which puts it 2 weeks late, I figured it would be later but I've had weird spotting, I had spotting for 3 days which I expected right after stopping. We bd on the 1st and 2nd then 6 days later I was spotting. Yesterday morning bd again then that night at work I went to the bathroom and was bleeding so I figured AF had showed finally but by morning all traces of spotting was gone. I'm just a bit confused as to what's going on I always have cramps just before AF but haven't had any at all and last night at work I was so out of it I couldn't think straight and kept forgetting what I was doing. I'm new on here and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Forgot to mention cervix is high and soft
